@ sassy did Whinlater this time last year. It's not far from Keswick (20~30min max) which was full of bike friendly B&B's. Basically the town exists for the tourist trade. Can't remember where I stayed but the guy there was also able to point us in the direction of a bunch of natural trails. So did that and the trail centre.

The Wyre is pretty good to ride at the moment, a few puddles still around but the ground is much softer than it has been in the last few weeks. Anybody free to ride over the weekend?

Wyre was very dry last night. All the rain has done is damp down the dust. Riding very nicely at the mo.
    Crashing hard since 94...

We met another group almost straight away near the VC and a couple of people who knew them said I'd be better off with this other group as they are faster.

So, I swapped groups and tagged on the back of five guys I didn't know.
I only got about 1km before I got a puncture. I'd been thinking recently I ought to top up the sealant as it's probably dried out in this hot weather and, sure enough, it wouldn't seal.
I told them to carry on without me and I would go straight home, stopping to pump it up every 5 minutes if necessary to save fitting a tube.

Anyway, I put a plug in the tyre and even without sealant, it worked and the tyre stayed up.
Back in business, but by that time they had gone and I had no idea where our group was, so I just wandered around looking for them.
I bumped in to the fast guys again twice, but never saw our group.
I am a mountain biking god.
    Unfortunately, my bike's an atheist.
