The main car parks in the city are open and not too bad but you have to pay, unfortunatly the outskirts are all zonal permits for residents so you cant get away with parking and riding in. I'm lucky as I can park at my work place and ride in from there, then afterwards i have access to showers and tea!Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

The Norwich one sounds like a good sportive to ride.... that will be on next years list. Maybe I will be able to complete the 100 in 6 hours if I start training now!! LOLCycling never gets any easier, you just go faster - Greg LeMond0

You have loads of time to get yourself prepared for next year, there is a 60 mile ride in August from Glenham Hall which could be the next stepping stone for you onto that magical 100!0 -
Hi guys,
I'm a bit late on this thread! I did the 50-mile ride in about 3h30 - my first organised ride and the longest ride I've done yet. I'm also signed up for the 50-miler in Norwich in a few weekends' time, maybe see a few of you there?
Anyway, main reason for posting is to say that photos of the event are up at http://www.philoconnor.com/sportivephoto.htm.
I was rider 373, with what looks like an incredibly uncomfortable riding position! In reality I did alright comfortwise, some backache at about halfway and the 40-mile food stop couldn't come quickly enough. i was going slowly enough that I managed to spot all the signposts and didn't get lost.0 -

Cheers for the link.... and well done on the time, spot on the same as me, I got back and neck ache towards the end, but consumed cereal bars during the ride, so I didnt even bother stopping at the 2nd food stop.. I was number 371 and Markos, your right I look like something else Si, what number was you?Cycling never gets any easier, you just go faster - Greg LeMond0 -

ah, sorry, I seem to have slipped an extra full-stop into the url at the end there, so it'll only work if you cut and paste as gav suggests.
Thanks for the comments Gav, I was happy with my time considering my previous state of fitness!
I should be taking delivery of my first drop-barred bike, a Kinesis Racelight T with SRAM Rival and Mavic Aksium wheels, in time for the Norwich ride and some metric century audaxes through the summer, and next year I'll be targeting the 100 milers in both.
Hopefully that will fit me better than the Sirrus I'm on in those pictures, with its nearly foot-long headtube!0
