    You guys :D
I sell a fair amount of it on, so the 'balance' isn't outrageous - well to me anyway o:)

I used to use a spare bedroom, but since becoming a parent that luxury has gone.
Now it's a couple of under bed storage boxes, and if anyone knows those Ikea pigeon hole units (Kallax maybe?) that you can buy little drawer box things for, 7 of those are occupied with cycling kit, oh and also a narrow 4 drawer 'tall boy' chest of drawers I think they are called.
Oh and half a (not that wide) double wardrobe - glasses, helmets, shoes and best jerseys and jackets reside in there.

Having said that, I do have some time off at the end of March, so I'm probably due having a trawl through to see if there is anything that needs to be shifted onwards.

Chances are the jerseys and jacket above will be too large, even in xs, or the fit won't be right, so they will probably be going back - but sometimes I am just overly curious about a particular item and decide to satisfy that curiosity.

    got any pics? sounds mad.

Taken a punt on these as much to see what the fit and quality is like from Merlin - Force appear to be a Czech company, bought some of their shoes a while back for my bro which were dirt cheap (£30 or £40) and he really rated them and used them for LONG distance touring with no issues.

Jacket (XS only) - £90 down to £35

And this jersey (XS only), £40 down to £22.50.

These arrived yesterday, managed to try them on just now.
The quality is ok, but they are definitely budget spec - the jacket is the better of the two items.

The fit of both is not really for your classic cyclist physique, favours someone with a broad chest I would say, although slightly oddly the cuffs were pretty snug.
Lots of room around the chest and body to be fair, and this is in xs!
I'd say the quality of the jersey is around the £25 mark, so for it's £22 price it was about right.

Jacket felt good quality, but again, for me the fit was all wrong - jacket much shorter at the front, and felt like a good windblocker, only oddity with it was the collar is very high, so jammed into my throat, so couldn't have been worn fully done up.
I'd say the jacket was probably worth about £40.

So they will both be heading back shortly - wanted to find out though, so job done in that respect.

They remind me a fair bit of some Funkier jerseys (Turbo use now) I have, perfectly serviceable, but not quite hitting the sweetspot of quality/value/fit.
In Funkiers defence the fit is better, but even in their smallest size they are too large for me - so for someone with a larger physique they could be very good.

You might be able to buy another one on c2w before you get the first one at this rate.

I'm also investigating other options - if I can find the right place, I might be able to stack 2 vouchers together, ie the credit from this one, plus a new one, and get a higher spec bike into the bargain.
How do HMRC calculate residual value on a bike you are still waiting for?

I genuinely don't know, but what I do know is that the provider extends as default the hire period to 5 years, and at the end of this I think there is either no payment (due to depreciation) or a minimal amount.

I suppose there is no difference, is 1 voucher was £2000, and one was £3000, and for arguments sake, let's say the amount to pay after 5 years was 5%, then they would require a payment of £100 in just under 5 years time, and £150 in nearly 6 years time - the total of the payments would be £250.

If one bike was purchased for £5000, then I would end up paying the same amount, but just over 2 years.
So the money paid back is unchanged.

this is also on there as well - potential?

Found one very similar - a sparkly clean 12-27 turned up today, £34 well spent. Thanks, not sure why I never thought of Ebay first time round... :-)

I've just collected my new Ridley Helium with Ultegra Di2. Pretty dream bike stuff for me. Need to buy some nice 40 or 50mm wheels and I'll be set.

Bought loads of stuff recently, shed load of Castelli gear to make me ride.

Might buy a second hand cross bike I've noticed.

Deeply uninteresting, but a Sora 9sp 3500 FD for the turbo bike - did have 9 spd 105 on there, so hoping this will work as well.

2 x cassettes, chain, chain ring, quick links & cadence sensor... expensive weekend.
  • A bottle holder for the bottle I purchased last week. Doesn't fit. using a tie and some velcro to make it do so.
  • 50T 11sp 5 arm chainring, chain, light mount, chain-lube. hopefully it wont this weekend and I can them on the bike.

Decided to try one of these from Saddleback - not shopped with them ever, used to use Castelli Cafe now and then, which was absorbed into here:

It's a Sportful jacket with a shed load of pockets and stuff, half price at £117.50.
I've tried sportful jerseys over the years, and the fit has always been shocking for me, so will be curious to see how this one pans out.......

New 10 speed chain KMC X10 EL and Look cleats. Picked up a set of LED USB rechargeable lights, the disc ones with 3 LEDs from The Salvation Army Store for £4. Be rude not to buy them at that price.

That sounds like the Lezyne Zecto? I have a rear.
That's quite a deal, depending on the power they are normally in the region of 10 X that for a pair :D

I have one of the rear Lezynes and it's quite nice and better than the Moon I had before... except the bloody micro-USB connection is terribly finnicky and only works with the supplied cable. Oh, and the Amazon Fire TV charger.

2 replacement rubber straps for the SKS mudguards and a lezyne pump to get free postage. Had the same pump before but the missus magically disappeared it, never to be seen again.

Three firsts for me in terms of items made by specific brands.

A pair of these 2 bolters in a 44 from Merlin:

And then 7Mesh have a sale of sorts on currently, so went for one of these jerseys.

for hot summer days only I think. Of which we get a lot of those here :#
*Having read more reviews, it appears it is not too meshlike, so is viable for less warm days, especially with a base layer tucked under.

And a pair of matching socks:

Local Evans is having a closing down sale, so while i was tempted with a brompton for less than a grand, ended up with managing to walk out only with a Garmin Speed 2 /Cadence 2 sensor pack, as the GSC-10 on one of my bikes has suffered a battery leakage after a year of no use

Cheers. That's the plan... Discussing trying a ride out next week or too.. Couple more sessions of PTSD councilling sessions first, but bike is in the workstand having a look over today. Think the new headset needed means she'll go to the specialist for that fix though.. And not going to try riding any of my other bikes while at this bulk...

The shoes arrived today from Merlin:

And very nice and well made they are too - feel solidly made, rotary dial is a little odd to ease the tension off or release it, but aside from that, and maybe being a little bit weighty, pretty pleased with them, and they are a keeper.

I'm contemplating trying to colour in the white NW writing on the heel area of the shoes, either yellow, or more likely to get success with black I think.
One of those paint pen things?
Or just try permanent (sharpie) marker - I would have thought with getting muddy, washing them it would still come off though in time?

Well impressed with the all green Santini jersey bought last month, and decided to get one of these as well for circa £41 after TCB and the £5 code, down from £80.
