I thought that but 25c Michelin at 80 psi are rock hard more than enough even for my MAMIL frame

There must be a virus affecting the forum as I'm getting that too.
  • Is this a viral red green colourblind epidemic?

71191.jpg the orange and yellow 'pairs'

    So, those socks.

Some dummy didn't really appreciate/read the description.

    TWIN pack of socks

So, yes, that's TWO pairs for £14.99 which I think is bloody excellent!

    https://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/49015 ... range.aspx

So I can now wear them matching OR contrasting and having ordered the lime ones too, have four pairs of socks!

Depends, normal will generally be cotton and less quick drying/cool etc.

That said, I don't really suffer sweaty feet. So if find something that works, go for it.

Very nice, I have just ordered a pair of pairs, but found them a smidge cheaper here, plus a smidgerooney of cashback through tcb:

They also tell you what foot size relates to which sock size, which I couldn't see on LeisureLakes - may have missed it though.

When you say Lime, is it the second ones you mean, the kind of minty ones?

Cotton Kills! ok a bit of an exageration for cycling to work - but any usage which might involve sweat and trying to stay either warm or cool and one is better off with either wool or synthetics

Ah good stuff - if there were some lime ones I might have nabbed a pair, but as you may have guessed, I too, have opted for the yellow ones 8)

Proper pic there. That's 7 pairs of socks I've bought recently! 3 more and I should be sorted. Then a big sock roundup!

Personally I ride normal cheap sports socks on the commute (with a change available at work if weather is wet) but certainly appreciate merino/synthetic socks on extended weekend rides - haven't needed more than 2 pairs though!

Cycling socks and shoes don't really suffer much from wear unless walked in.

I tend to use fairly cheapy Aldi, Lidl or More Mile socks for both running, and also for training on the turbo, and keep the more plush socks for longer rides outdoors, or the occasional 2.5 hour beast session on the turbo where the added comfort is needed.

PlanetX socks in sale are worth looking out for. Every so often they drop down to sily money - about a year ago they had merino blend (both thick and thin) for just over a quid each. I bought lots. I have a few pairs of tarty socks for weekend rides and dozens of pairs of elcheapo for everything else

Not quite stuff that I've bought, but my dear wife went to Lidl yesterday, and bought me some choice goods from the cycle event.

Now - a cheeky cable lock is actually quite handy for the work garage - there are enough bikes that aren't locked up at all in there for a 1cm width cable lock to be adequate (along with a pass protected roller shutter and CCTV cameras). Just a shame that she neglected to buy a lock that came with any keys.

On the other hand, a pair of inner tubes always go down well. 28-35 x 700c fit quite a few of my bikes, so all good. Just a shame that they come with Schraeder valves, which none of my bikes use.

Bless her - it's the thought that counts.

My socks on the commute are usually fairly thick and long work socks as I work in a +2c temperature and fold them down to a reasonable height. In the summer I'll wear thinner socks and change when I get to work but still wear my work socks home, it's dark so nobody will see. Rarely I'll wear my SealSkinz socks cause it's wet but luckily that isn't often.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
