Pair of GP 4000s II in a 28 to go on my Synapse (£56 the pair - wiggle), Aeron Winslam Gillet to match the lovely Aeron Long sleeved Roubaix jersey I just bought (in matching Orange and Navy - sounds nasty but it really isn't) At the other end of the Wiggle scale, a pair of lifeline prime race tyres in a 25 for my Cannondale 6 at a heady £12 each. I took a punt as they got excellent reviews on Road.cc and at 120 tpi they roll very nicely, grip seems more than adequate and given it's a dry weather bike shouldn't be an issue. They also look like counterfeit Continental tyres. In addition (I was in cheapskate mode) lifeline SPD SL cleats @ £5.69 - they work so thanks very much, and a lifeline out front mount for garmin. Made from aluminium and looks like a (slightly) beefed up K-edge mount - £12.34.
Nothing wrong with this lifeline spd sl cleats
I use them exclusively now, they're better than Shimano

That's good to know, they seem to be holding up well so far.

So I love my new mtb shoes, and whilst they have a lot of grip when walking, the underneath of the shoe easily slips of the pedal if I'm not clipped in.

I tend to use these for commuting and nipping to the shops as well, and will often unclip around junctions - I've bashed my shin and crushed my nuts twice now whilst setting off and not clipping in straight away - middle of the sole slides of the pedal so easily as it's smooth.

Skateboard grip tape to the rescue

A BORG31 tubeless front wheel to go with BORG31 tubeless rear wheel :D
  • About to drop off my large MET Rivale for return to Wiggle using Collect+, it was a great fit around the edge, but the top of my head was ~1cm or so away from the top padding. I have an oval, ~61cm head.

First time returning goods to Wiggle, it is supposed to be easy, one of the reasons I ordered a helmet online for a change. Hopefully it goes smoothly for a refund.

The jersey will be fine for the commute then, where I don't need access to the pockets for food etc, but just to keep stuff in.

Wiggle returns are a piece of cake mate, expect you will have your refund before the week is out.

I can heartily recommend Lazer helmets - their fitting system, imho, seems to nullify the fit issues some others having with not matching head shapes, as there is a band the full circumference of the helmet - comfiest brand of helmet i have ever worn, and now have several

105 Groupset for as un-yet decided frame - I am going along the lines of buying all the components and then get another frame, in black so the epo doesnt notice, and build it up one day when she is at work. Then when she says you have bought a bike, i can tell her no. I have bought components and built a bike.

As an aside i bought her a new DHB bloc jersey; to ease the pain.

Those cleats look in the wrong place, too far back? I realise it's a stock photo not yours.

There's a load of room for moving them. There are 2 pairs of bolt holes, the cleats there are on the rear set, set all the way back. Mine are on the rear set, set about 2/3 back.

Is that the Fenix 5, bendertherobot?

Which one did you go for? Hope the GPS tracks are better on the 5 than my 3.

Yeah, or, look at it this way. Thing is, it's a Garmin Swim, Forerunner 235 and 520 all rolled into one. So, it's not that bad.

How many HRMs do you get in the box? I got my Fenix 3 for about £180 from Sportpursuit when the sent out a 25% off voucher. HRMs for Running and Swimming have cost a substantial amount on top.

I've given up wearing my other watch (which is probably a bad hing because it's what I got from my wife instead of a wedding ring).

None, all the 5 models have integrated optical sensors now. Which was another reason to change. I prefer not wearing one and, as long as it's accurate ish, then all good.

I did have the HRM run version but, I think if i was super serious, I'd get the HRM Tri.

That version is £549 bundled up so I'd wait to see if that drops in price.

I've not done badly here. Bought my Fenix 3 for £300 last November. Sold it for £280 to the cost to change isn't all that bad.
