From Ribble (Extra 15% off at the mo)
12-27 105 Casette (Ready for hills)
Spare look delta cleats (For the tri shoes)
2x red/black michelin pro race 2 tyres (To make me quicker)
Assos chamois cream (To make me compfy)
Carbon assembly paste (To stop the seat post slipping)
From ProBikeKit
38 piece pro tool kit (To fit the bits bought from ribble, and replace crap allen keys)
Short finger gloves (all of about £4)
Can you tell the 'nice' bike is getting treated in advance of it's first competitive outing of the year?
Wanted: A torque wrench (2-40Nm should do)0 -
Tim, you might stuggle to get 2-40Nm as a torque wrench , but weldtite do a nice one for 2-20Nm wich is fairly nice, and what i use0

I want one of these, but my money-saving willpower is currently stopping me... I don't /need/ it... but I /wants/ it my precioussss....
The price on that webbie seems OTT to me. I sold these when I was in the bike trade and they were priced to retail at £20 max IIRC. In the meantime pop down to Bridgewater and get on of these for your Speccy hybrid, your work colleagues will soon get bored of taking the Pi$$
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Mickey Eye wrote:Snellgrove, what type bag is that? I'm getting a bit fed up that my only sweaty bits these days is my back suffering under a Crumpler laptop bag. Does that one have a laptop slot for example? [edit] Found it was the Ortlieb velocity and you can buy laptop inserts for it, please tell me how you get on with it.
Well, it turned up today - got quite a few comments from people in the office asking what the heck a company called 'Wiggle' could possibly sell
It's a nice bag, much more comfortable and my back was definitely cooler on the way home. I put my old bag inside the Velocity  it's quite a bit bigger.
I decided to take a few pictures - Only just got in from work when I took them lol the lounge was a bit of a state while I migrated my stuff from one bag to the other!! I got told off by the boss :P
You can click the pictures to go full-size
The cats found it interesting! The insert clips onto the two inner-most popper bits, at the top of the bag.
Vents keep your back cool. Strap can go across your chest & another across your waist, which I didn't use.
So far, very happy with it :-) 5 year warranty is cool, says 25yr waterproofing. Doubt it, but that's great if it is.
One last buy but can include in here, as although I won't be wearing it, I did pay for a 2XU Tankini tri-top for Mrs Snellgrove and that seems up to 2XU's usual high standards - looks really nice on [her] & is made of their compression polyamide / lycra (80 / 20 %) which so far has proven to be very comfy & warm (on my base-layer, featured in this thread a few pages back).
We got the black one, and the stitching is actually light gray / white.

If you don't mind me asking, did you get those shoes for a decent price? Just about to go clipless myself and got the pedals for £15 off eBay but since I first started looking all the shoes seem to have shot up in price.0 -

Got me a Rapha Musette
I know, I know: ponce/tart/etc. I meant to get one of the X-small Timbuk2 messenger classics (X-small being perfect for most days and I have a bigger bag for the stocking up on shirts, underwear, etc days) but the Musette seemed so much classier and for not a lot more money really. Mind you, given this morning's ride in, I should have pondered the meaning of "water resistant" (i.e. not water proof) for a little longer. Everything (except me) was dry when I got to work but I was a little distracted wondering whether my iPod, Blackberry and phone would be fizzing when I took them out of the bag.Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.0 -

Thanks...but... I already bought it. In yellow, so I have to stop by the post office on my ride home and pick it up.0 -

Excellent use of bikehike in your sig, Chapeau!Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -

Sarajoy, how do you do that? It's genius we should all have one like a badge of honour
As you can see I've tried and failedSaracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame
Voodoo Bizango - 2014 - Dead - Hit by a car
Vitus Sentier VRS - 20170 -
Well what I did:
Go to bikehike.co.uk and input your route, then save it, and get a URL for it
Then click the 'Show Elevation Data' box, and take a screen capture
Edit the screen-capture down in your fave image-editing software to just show the elevation graph
Upload it to your chosen image host, and get the URL
Then add the following into your sig in your profile, changing the { } for [ ] and **** for the ID in your saved bikehike URL
{url=http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=****}{img}http://yourimage.url/here.jpg{/img}{/url}
(It's possibly more useful if you include the scale on the graph image, unlike wot I did! But people can find out the real details if they click the image.)0 -
Wicked! Cheers I shall be playing about at that tonight (much to the annoyance of t'other half  )Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame
