Fulcrum racing zeros -- and I improved by 10 minutes on my flat 90 training ride. I can't decide whether I'd like to attribute the improvement to my training or the wheels. In any case, here's the beauty!

My Trixie just arrived! Stupid name for a cool tool for the fixie and fits nicely and discretely on the frame.
Short hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.

I think I've found the right ones on t'interweb, but am going to check with brother this weekend so I don't order the wrong ones!

Apparently having a screw loose is a common problem on speedplays... and blondes.

Nice try. Definitely not going to be used on the commute....

Interesting. Perfect except for the following small flaws:
    1) Train in today in theatre-going prospect. :(
    2) No spare cassette and cassette tool/chain whip is at home (I've already got 2 and buying a third would just seem extravagant)
    3) No spare tyre. Could swap out but see 1 above
    4) No lock, I don't leave my bikes anywhere out of my sight

I realize that local bike shops could solve all the above problems ;)

WooHoo the Garmin has arrived, ordered yesterday at 15:38, great service. Looking forward to playing with it @ lunch.

LiT - glad you are now a fully signed up speedplayer. I was a little worried that you'd go for Blondies silly egg whisking things!

2 Ti ones though, way to splash out. Perhaps I should make you aware of the Speedplay Nanograms:

A cool £430 for a pair of pedals!!

Holy moly... I got my Ti ones for over £150 less than that for 2 pairs...

And furthermore, with all this weight saving... What's that? A clif bar in your jersey? Carrying a spare innertube and tyre levers? You just wasted that extra £280 you spent on pedals...

    Ah, but it's rotating weight...

What? I didn't sound convincing enough? Pass me the clif bar...mmmm

Yes... the ol' £ per g weight saving equation gets pretty ugly at the extremes...

Over the last few days I picked up an entire replacement chainset for £17 (Chainreaction flood sale), XT brake arms for £15 delivered, replacement bearings (grade 10) for both hubs and a load of disposable gloves because I'm sick of washing my hands seven times when I clean the drivetrain.

3 Rapha base layers & 3 pairs of Rapha socks. Nyum nyum. :)

Edit: Oh, just found out the base layer pack went up £10 today, so I got in at just the right time! :)

After weeks of slipping gears, including numerous atempts to re-index them, new cables etc I thought I was going mad and about to resort to putting the bike into the LBS for sorting. In a moment of inspirations I checked my jockey wheels and found they had died a death, they had more play in them than a thing with lots of play in it

Cue some new Tacx jockey wheels with ceramic bearings, hopefully they'll last a good bit longer than the standard Shimano ones, they need to at the cost  At least my gears now snick up and down with a precision previously unknown.

Is it really tarty to get the white ones to match the red and white theme of the bike

This has been discussed before. Yes, you would be a stinking great tart.

There was also a more sensible debate about whether it was worth the cost. I'm not convinced, but then I've found myself looking at a Hope ceramic BB lately...

I think I knew the answer to that one anyway

Having just purchased some Trek bib shorts with Madone written large across the arse to match my new bike I think I qualify as a big tart

Not as big as some Pinarello owners though

    They do white jockey wheels.

Oh yes, not sure how long they stay white for though.

I'm tempted to get some red ones for the Madone to match the nipples

    £33 for pulleys!!!!!!!

Pro3 Race got delivered this morning, well when I say delivered rather than put them through the letter box they left them in completely open car park in the vague vicinity of the door to my offices  I also have 4 new tubes to replace the two that got sliced to death by flints on the weekend.

Just waiting for my Castelli Bibs to arrive and this weeks shopping is complete!

Ooooohhhhh, I need some of those................

Now can I bring myself to break the self imposed ban on upgrading the Madone within 6 months of buying it. I think upgrading within a week would break my previous record
