Felt like the 200-1 nag at the Derby this morning along SCR route 1: thoroughbreds sliding past easy on the outside. No serious cycling for the past 6mos for different reasons , so I hope that's why - no chance of being put out to stud, either.

Ditto Fridays legs.....still finding my feet on the new route in from Bexley but 16.5miles @ 18mph was a pleasant surprise.

did you overtake a bloke on a blue Giant with a luminous rucksack going through Blackfen this morning? If so cheers for the drag up to the snarl up of traffic where I lost you (foot of eltham hill)

Got my pb today of 53:45 @ 18mph partly thanks to you, the lovely new road through New Cross and drafting a couple of people carriers when my legs were shot going up park lane.

I think so (I was on a Steel Colnago, White bar grip) ....Picked you up at the Blue Anchor in Bexley, Passed you through Blackfen then lost you through Eltham. Yep you kept me honest this monring, I did not want to ride that fast but between you and a chap in a Marmite top on Jamaica road I was a little tired by the time I hit Liverpool Street.

Headwind this morning. Made things a bit difficult, especially when I had green or no lights all the way from BB to Lambeth BR.

Thought I was suffering from Friday legs as well this morning as CB to Parl. Square was a little sluggish, but maybe that was the head wind. PS was fairly clear, and I got almost a complete run of greens back onto the Embankment. Arriving at the Horseguards lights, a coach was in the LH lane, and the usual gaggle of scooters were blocking the end of the cycle lane. A fellow cyclist sarcastically muttered, "nice bicycle" to the nearest, then the lights changed. The perfect opportunity to put a scooter in it's place, I thought, span up to the mid twenties, waited for a gap then steamed past said scooter, complete with disdainful glance over shoulder

Managed to hold off the same scooter until the lights before Blackfriars Bridge, but was flagging then due to having to drop the anchors and swerve a few hundred yards back when another scooter (Dominos Pizza) decided to pull left without checking his mirrors. I think he heard what I said through his helmet and my mask - that would have hurt if he'd clipped me at about 26-27mph

@rj - I think people can take leave of their brains when riding one of those underpowered 2 wheeled "machines". Had 2 the other night, which tbh I'm not surprised they did this after seeing their previous riding, promptly cut up 2 cyclists as they went left from the middle of the ASL in Dulwich Village. Was very close as the chap ahead of me was fairly quick off the lights! I did have a crack at a more portly chap aboard one this morning, think he managed to muster up about 25.5mph up the small incline on CS7 vs. my 25....

PT this morning as I'm out on the razz tonight.

So amazingly slow in comparison to the bike. I can't believe I used PT for so long in my life before bike commuting.

Sorry but I hope I don't see you on the way home.... :lol:I could really do with a slow one.

Off up to Suffolk this afternoon so I took the car home last night and drove in this morning. I enjoyed watching a certain lady on a hybrid with double panniers. She was in good shape and wearing black legging thingys which were quite see-through and she had on white skimpy panties :D

She was a game girl and doing 20-22 through New Cross but she shouldn't RLJ. I was tracking her all the way up to Peckham Park Road but there it went all pear-shaped and a 7.5 tonner took off my passengr side mirror

Accident was @ 09:17 and I "caught" her at the top of Lewisham Way 10 mins before that

I think she was running late as I've come across her before, as it were ;)

Pretty sure that was the fastest I've gone down CS7 this week, nothing like some healthy competition to make one buck their idea's up! Rather pleased the lights by Stockwell where red, gave that guy on the white Specialized a bit more of a chance :-D

Awesome ride home last night. It seemed a treat to be riding on dry roads! Finished yoga at about 7:30ish (first time, loved it!) and feeling incredibly relaxed and warmed up, power pootled along Embankment. Quite a few low FCN contenders about, but traffic dampened any serious SCR. Crossed Putney bridge, and started along LRR towards the park and encountered a slight, but very fast chap on a red condor, was wearing a red t-shirt with a white longsleeve underneath. Anyone on here? Chased him as best I could from LRR to the Park, then kept up with him as we went clockwise round the park. Riding the dark with nothing to focus on but a red LED ahead was cool. Pace was high (for me) but I totally lost him on Broomfield Hill. Chapeau fella, you wore me out (and probably didn't even notice). Once at the top of Broomfield, recovery was fairly quick and I kept a high pace. On my own in the dark I heard the roar of a red deer buck at the side of the road. Brilliant night's riding :)

This morning....two miles into my commute on NKR my rear tyre goes flat. Walk home in heavy rain to catch PT to work. Riding the hybrid home this evening :(
More "pootle", less "power" judging by what I saw....

    Don't think I haven't thought about it

Yes my road bikes are zero but the commuter hangs in there at 1

Left work at 4:30, but darn, motorized traffic was orrible, so didn't get home much earlier!

Suffering with a horrible cold too, but woah, cycling seems to cure it, at least for the period when I'm sat on the bike. I was racing motorbikes not pedal bikes!

Now I'm at home aching like crazy again :?

Flew home again tonight, possibly setting a new record of 53 minutes door to door, but again no-one around to share it with.

Briefly saw a chap on a Colnaglo as I launched over Hampton Court Bridge but we filtered on opposite sides of traffic and I didn't see him again. Guessing he turned right at the same point as me since he filtered right and I went down the middle and he was gaining over the bridge.

Pity, I miss having rabbits to chase.

Despite sore Friday legs, I seemed to be going well, and had my eye on a couple of roadies when we got split by the lights on the way out of PS. Further lights conspired to mean that I didn't see them again :(

I was all teed up for a rocket ride home and duly laid waste to all bar a roadie in baggies and a casual shirt who tailed me from P'Square to DSC. When he came past me through DSC I was hauling 26, I cranked it up and gave chase and got on his wheel at 27mph but just past the Shell garage I hit a bump and my chain flew of the front ring

By the time I got it back on and got back up to speed he was gone. Re-taking everyone who'd come past me wasn't much fun but I got home in under 30 mins, and averaged over 18mph which is always a good sign. Next time...

Lovely morning, but a bit of a head breeze. Power-pootling up to CB, I decided to save something for fighting the wind along the Embankment, which turned out to be a good idea. Nobody of note until near VB lights, when a red carbon PX (posh Mavic wheels + SRAM Red, and PX kit) passes in the wind down to the lights. As he pulls away from the green a little slowly, I seize my chance and spin up to just over 30mph on the slight down slope, but as I round the bend, the numbers start tumbling as I hit the Millbank Tower downdraught. Luckily, the same thing happens to Mr PX, and I manage to hang on until LBR. Trailed him up to PS, but then got separated by a bendy bus (are they still here?) clogging up the roundabout.

Chased a guy in dhb shorts and a blue an white jersey on a silver-framed roadie along Viccy Embankment, but got split by some lights due to a dwadler blocking the Horseguards bike lane, so only just caught up before he turned off at Blackfriars.
