    @ITB
    @Bass

    I'll be starting my morning jaunts to RP soon. Aiming to be in the park for 6:30 or so, reckon this gives me time for 2 laps before getting home for 7:30 to swap bikes for the commute!

    Would also be up for the odd evening jaunt. Really need to start training properly.

    I'm hoping to get 6 laps in this Sunday :-) Along with the 20 mile round trip there and back it'll most likely be my longest ride of the year so far! Need to start bumping the mileage up to test energy bars and I reckon I only have 3 or 4 more weekend rides left to do it in :shock:

    wouldn't it be cheaper just to set up a standing order of innertubes?

    great commute this evening. No real SCR action but it was shooper mild and the first commute of the year for me where i rode sans jacket.

    Bib short and single s/s/ layer with gloves. Love it!

    95 sets of lights? Based on my calculation earlier, that works out as nearly 25 minutes stationary! Each way, that's nearly an hour a day waiting at the lights!

    And when a set breaks down, the traffic frequently carries on pretty much as normal, if not more smoothly. Does make you wonder whether it's all some kind of racket.

    There was a trial in Bristol where they turned the TLs off. North Somerset Council have turned a set of TLS of that caused much protest in Portishead because of the traffic backlog they caused. Without the lights the traffic is much more free flowing.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Since I discovered that they account for 5 days a year of my time. I'm sorely tempted to buy myself an angle grinder and start taking the bleedin' things out one at a time :twisted:

    Nice quick ride home tonight in the lovely sunshine, but competition was a bit thin on the ground. I did seem to keep dazzling myself as the sun was just at the right angle for me to be riding directly into it. Thank goodness for the vizor on my helmet. Any idea what was going on on the Embankment between Blackfriars and Parlt Sq? The traffic was stacked up for no apparent reason.
