not really, its too bloody wet. This evening might be better.

I was a little surprised to see a chap on a mtb down on his clip-on tri bars drafting a roadie in this weather...

I was on the mtb this morning. Scalped some roadies before and through DSC. Did it again down Millbank.
    Ah, good to hear.

Enjoy it this eve (I've got the M4 to look forward to...)

    More roadie scalpiing tonight :)

Gotta say - it's hard going on the mtb. I was out of puff when I arrived home.

you may be thinking its hard going now, but when you get back on your roadie- you'll think youre flying....

you have to admit though, its more fun passing roadies when youre on an mtb... more of a challenge, and it REALLY pisses them off....
FCN 11. When you hear the buzz of the nobblies, you know youve been scalped.
  • Lovin it this morning. Not sure what part of the prosecco, red wine or discovery consumed last night gave me the super boost but it sure was fun. Chapeau to the fixed bianchi for being that fast but a slap to the chops for the two rljers who meandered straight past our lane of traffic.

I sincerely hope you're right! :) This morning, I had a clean run on the lights from Albert Bridge to Lambeth Bridge Roundabout, going full pelt to drop some roadies, with only a small freewheel between VB lights and the Morpeth. Got a laptop in the backpack, too I was knackered.

Bit more action after the HoP to Blackfriars. Made it in an hour. I need some sleep. Not a nap, but some sleep.

  • In and out early doors this week so missing out on most of the fun. Good side is that there is still natural light (of sorts) when I leave at 4.30. Summer here we come!

Managed a bit of a ding with a flying ginge on a black canondale (I think) SS last night. Not sure if it was him I passed in Blackfriars tunnel heading westbound. Either way he kicks past outside HoP (I nearly took him out as he went past and I had a bit of a lazy shoulder check  ).

We seem to exchange the lead down Embankment without either of us wanting to exert real pressure... we're clearly not trying. Split by an ambulance on Cheyne walk and I lose him until the lights just after the right-left chicane half way down NKR.

Unfortunately from there on in we're split by traffic, swapping places over Col de Putney Bridge without any real feel of racing. Approaching the small roundabout on LRR I'm locked on his tail and planning a move on the smooth bit of black stuff that runs for 200 yards after. Alas, he forks right at the roundabout, holding a good pace as he does so.

Folks: eyes peeled for a rider on a Focus, wearing a cap, but no helmet. Said rider may also be decked out in Castelli. :)

  • So, IP, do you think you'll still be weak as pish in a couple of weeks time? I'd rather book in advance and get a cheaper fare.
  • Back in the game after a month's sojourn (for wedding, Xmas and honeymoon in South Africa!)...legs felt extremely fresh this morning though it was clear that my cardiovascular fitness has suffered from the fortnight of eating out combined with litres of wine consumption (godbless Franschhoek & Stellenbosch!!).

Looking forward to some not racing on the streets of London in 2010!

Thanks CJ. These: Boschendal (did Le Pique Nique there), Graham Beck, Boekenhoutskloof, Stony Brook, Kanonkop, Simonsig, Glenwood & Moreson.

Glenwood was our favourite - all of their wine was outstanding.

@MM - glad to be back!
