  • Nice ride in and no sight of that fat tw4t on the MTB which was nice. Cracking accident in South Wimbledon this morning, I should have stopped and taken a pic for #Audisinhouses on the twitters. Traffic wasn't mental and only one rozzer on the scene so I must have missed it by 15 mins or so.

I did have a nodder almost rear end me at a ped crossing, very keen to ride hard but he didn't have much stamina, a real shame he turned off as I would have enjoyed the moment he fully blew.

How the hell does one reach point in their life where it seems a good idea to smash bottles on a cycling path.

Haha yes, I know Abbi. She'll find this hilarious (and be delighted you didn't mention her clicking headset ).

Not sure I would have heard it over my creaky under tightened* front QR, TBH.

*which I will now fix - thanks for the reminder.

Saw her again this morning. Easy to spot because (a) she was wearing bibs that I have, and (b) she was slicing up the (entirely male and entirely humiliated) competition into very very small pieces with a relentless and ruthlessness that was a joy to behold.

I had a bit of a race with abbster last week, managed to avoid humiliation, posted about it, and she came on here and posted. Maybe she'll spot your post too Greg.

Today was generally outside pubs and places that show the football. Suspect the owners just swept it all off into the cycle lane to get cleared by the road sweepers. Not ideal though.

  • Yep, quelle surprise the Audi was white. One has to assume they overcooked the a gentle left hander before the car mounted the pavement and hit the shop. I can only guess the driver reversed and tried to drive off before realising they were proper fvcked.

Yup, people sweep up in front of their premises into tidy little piles, then rather than sweep that up into a bin they just shove it into the gutter where 90% of all cycle lanes are.

It proper pisses me off when I see people doing this.

The speed still seems to be there but it's a lot harder work than it was a few weeks ago!

I also think I'm carrying an extra 7-8 pounds. It's amazing how quickly you can pile on weight when you stop exercising and continue to eat as if you do

I have few miles of segregated bike paths from A4 up to Hillingdon circuit, but it’s quite often littered with broken bottles, for weeks on end, which is why I fitted Marthon Plus Tours though even they have some deep slashes.

Greg wears the same bibs as abbster.

    Abbster is a woman.

    Therefore, Greg wears women's bibs?

Saw three riders on Upper Thames Street last night drafting one of those e-scooters. Thats a new low as far as Im concerned. Got attacked by all by a plague of flies and winged things in RP last night, ate a few to boot! No real SCR this morning, good notch up in quality though by not being the usual chopperfest.

    Valuable protein.

Fun ride home last night - I was aware of someone on my wheel from around clapham north, so kept increasing the effort. Stopped at some lights and one guy said to another that he was suffering trying to hang on to him, and the other guy said that he was suffering trying to hang on to me. All very friendly, and they seemed like fast competent riders, one on a TT bike (busted wheel on his road bike apparently), and a skinny racing snake guy with a beard in very smart matching blue kit. Anyway, we rode in convoy all the way back to Raynes Park, well, they sat on my wheel as I pushed it on a bit, chatting a bit at the the lights. The traffic cleared up after the tram level crossing, and I let TT bike guy lead me out a bit, then put the head down for a good old sprint - I managed to hit 56kph before traffic stopped play in Wimbledon Chase, and I sat up and looked back to see racing snake guy glued to my wheel, laughing and whooping like nutter. Goodbyes & handshakes all round.

Nice social ride more or less all the way in with abfg, with hardly any fcukwitterry from other road users.

In other news. Felt this weird wet stuff coming from the sky on the way home yesterday. Not sure what it was? There were funny fluffy things in the sky too. Very odd!

Drinking tonight post JP Morgan Chase Challenge so trainw*nkering in this morning. GCN show on the mobile. Get off at London Bridge and the the race is on, walking over the bridge is like a slow motion bunch sprint, you have to hold your line - commit, but be flexible - swap to someone else's wheel if the guy you're chasing tires... good sport.

 You know I had exactly the same thought. Same route as always, after I said hello to you in RP I didnt exactly put the hammer down but by Embankment I thought I had a chance of staying ahead. You must be getting slow
  • - 10 MINS out of a 55 min ride at reds this morning...seemed to hit every single one. There *are* 89 sets of traffic lights on my route, but that was definitely worse than usual.

    - I have swallowed more flies/ants in the last two weeks than ever before. Namely two. Blurgh.

Down in Wales at moment mainly fettling parents electronic devices, no flying ants thus far, 89 lights is a feck load, my commute is just over a hr and just under 12 miles, with 9 lights in total, mix of ped lights and junctions, lot of my commute is parks and what not, hence the relative rarety for a London commute.

Me too. Most enjoyable. There even seemed to be fewer cars around than normal. Not looking forward to carting my bag back later.
  • Took the good bike, all very quiet but tw4ts a plenty.

    - van reving then pulled alongside me indicating with 3 metres to go before the Clapham Common left hook while I was in primary
    - told to fvck off by a chap on a cube who i told the lights had changed after he shoaled infront of us and then sat where he couldn't see the lights blocking the path
    - walked into by a chap crossing the road between buses, I was going very slow because of such things but stayed upright with some mad skillz but the Uber driver I almost hit didn't look like be believed i'd not taken a chunk out of his rear wing
