Ordered some software off Amazon for a friend and it arrived today but there wasn't any wrapping on the CD case and there was some handwriting in the install manual. Makes me think somebody bought it, installed and activated it then sent it back for a refund.

Hyde Park shared cycleway (past Round Pond) closed for 6 weeks for re-surfacing. Going to ruin all my split times as I divert around :x

A beautiful sight to behold as the Rozzers were out in force having words with the numpties ignoring the signs, or using the no-cycling paths.

I diverted onto S Carriage Drive (heading East - West) then used the pavement on Kensington Rd to get back to the Boardwalk. By using the pavement, I mean off the bike.

Going to have to find a rideable diversion.. :?

  • Got side swiped by a taxi driver.
Slow speed and stayed on, just, but unfortunately as I wobbled my leg came out to balance myself and caught the side of his door putting a dent in it.

Anyway we stopped and he refused to give me his details, so I had to follow him to the station and take photos of his cab and him.
These of course will be passed onto the police later today.

Honestly, I was hoping it wouldn't be like this in the new year.

As you are ok maybe this should be in the anti-rants as well - especially as you got his details and dented his door. Glad you are ok - after the litany of injuries of members in another thread I realised all over again how dangerous a game we play
  • Thanks.

    I know you're right, I was lucky.

Just getting a bit sick of it being such a lottery if I'm honest.

^This sums up my feelings perfectly.

We should be able to choose if we want to put ourselves in danger - not have risk forced upon us.

Yodel not doing what people pay them to do and that's deliver parcels.
They have been entrusted with my frame from Planet X, had the shipment email yesterday afternoon so was looking at the tracking webpage throughout the day. Around 1530 went on Twitter and asked if I'd wasted a day waiting for them to deliver and Yodel replied that they can deliver upto 2100. Had a DM from them at 1930 saying the parcel won't be delivered Tuesday cause the driver had address issues(?) Have told them I leave for work at noon and the only acceptable resolution is for me to have the parcel and not to return it to sender if the driver can't deliver before noon. It's strange that the Yodel had address issues today as they delivered a parcel to a neighbour upstairs that I signed for last week. This is the third delivery to me they haven't completed at the first attempt, the last frame from PX took 3 attempts cause the driver didn't leave any calling cards and I had to collect a parcel from the depot which was only a USB stick so doable on my bike. Looks like we've found a successor to the CityLink crap service crown.

Pedestrians, the ASL is there for cyclists to use when waiting at the red light. It does not form part of the pdestrian crossing. The clue is the big white bike they paint in it. The ped crossing is the bit in front of it, so please stop getting the arse when one of us gets in your way as you cut across.

I got accused of jumping a red light by a pedestrian because I cycled into it as she decided to cut across the ASL. When I pointed out I had not jumped the light she turned round and said you all do it anyway.

Nothing wrong with buying chocs from the Co-op.

  • Taxi Driver clearly didn't like me (correctly) passing him and stopping in the ASL. So as lights turn green he pulls away at stupid speed to pass me on the inside!

I keep wanting to buy new kit but then I look at what I have and realise I have neither the need or the room! And bloody Oakley bring out the Jawbreaker photochromic model finally, why not do this when I needed them! Anyone want to buy some racing jackets with some photochromic and prizm lenses? ;)

Scooters, if you're going to lane split down the middle, at least grow a pair. (Trapped behind a nodding scooter with L plates down Putney High Street too many mornings already this year)

'Fraud not. PM me if you're interested in selling just the clear lenses.

    No problem if not.

    --

More appropriately for the thread I'm fed up.

It's my new year's resolution to be nice(r) to strangers all of the time, even when I am in a bad mood. Theory being that the world will feel a better place.

Had more abuse from drivers than ever, and I'm not even being dickish. Being very considerate.

Motorists, if you are reading: calling someone a c@nt or swearing at them for just being on the road is bad bad bad. Don't care how stressed you are, or how slow the traffic is.

Will PM, if I sell on to get the jawbreakers (likely as I would prefer something that doesn't interfere so much with my shoulder check vision) they will go with the photochromic and prizm lenses.

Some people are just arses and quite frankly whatever you do or say they will behave like that. They probably have very unfulfilling lives!

Just went to my local Recycyling Facility / Dump to dispose of a car battery and some old chains.
In amongst the Metal Waste there was a rusty BSO / PoS . But it had a Campag fluted seatpost and lovely black old leather Rolls saddle, both of which are exactly what I'm looking for for my Bottecchia build. I had no tools with me, nor did anyone else, the whole bike itself was unextractable from the tangle, and it was 2 minutes from closing. VERY annoying.
