Mr Go North East bus driver if I'm doping 27mph downhill in 30mph zone and there is a pedestrian that might want your bus in the next bus stop and a car coming the other way this is not a good place to attempt an overtake in the rain.

Then compounding your error by beeping at me as i move to make it easier for you to complete your stupid overtake is a sign complete idiocy.
  • Sat here with a toothache from hell , what makes it worse after two emergency dental appointments with two different dentists they can only say that my teeth are OK they "THINK" it is due to. one dentist ,"gum infection",
number two dentist, an infection from my sinus into jaw onto nerve / root .
Whatever it is the anti bio-tics are taking there time to work , by the way anyone know how long it should take to clear the infection , IF this is the cause ?
Eating/drinking is a nightmare sleeping OK but feel totally drained , usually do 30 mile round trip commute and 50 plus on a Sunday , had to have a couple of days using the car and Sunday plus looks doubtful.
Anyhow , rant over ,thanks for listening.
    regards

I once had what you describe(bottom jaw on the right). Lasted 3 weeks and 3 dentist visits until a problem wisdom tooth(the top right one) was identified and it practically fell out when it was removed. Something to consider...

I will consider anything at the moment !
What made it worse was when I left the Dentist he said "see you" , "Good Luck".
I know he was been pleasant but it did not inspire me with much confidence !
Might try a bath now to chill out .

  • The rule that says no non-folding bikes on trains before 7pm. After two front tyre punctures on my journey to work and then at the end of the day finding front tyre totally flat I decided to quit while I was ahead and take the train home from Cannon St. A train for Hayes was sitting at the platform and leaving at 6.40pm but could I be let through to catch it? Oh,no! I was allowed through at 6.58pm to catch the 7pm train. On the plus side whilst loitering on the Cannon St concourse in full bike kit I realised that I wasn't most weirdly dressed person!

Allez man, rides like a chopper.

Decides on his own accord to stop all traffic to let an oncoming left turning van go down a drive. I carry on since I have plenty speed to make the gap safely and ultimately, he's not the right of way arbiter.

He makes some effort to catch up, attempts a pass up the inside between me an the curb to remonstrate about my "poor road etiquette".

  • At myself for having nothing creative to say when the Rav 4 driving brummie decides to buzz me on the A3 overpass just so he can squeeze into traffic, he seemed to be offended me coming to his right to chat was me riding intowards him now? Stupidly it just ended up with planty of me shouting 'alright mate' in a brummie fcktard accent while doing lots of thumbs up like the Friend scene from the Inbetweeners, why? i'm not sure.
If I know you, and I like you, you can borrow my bike box for £30 a week. PM for details.

This is not to suggest you did this but often when filtering I'll spot a car crossing between traffic and if there's a good chance its going to cross the lane, i'll signal and stop but then there's always one fool who decides they have right of way and squeezes through, often resulting in a near miss.

Watched someone jumping red lights so piss poorly this morning I had to say something.
If you are going to do it, do it safely and without nearly running down pedestrians.

I stopped at fairly short notice when I noticed a ped in dark clothing in the process of stepping onto a ped crossing just after Putney Bridge. As I was braking, alongside a car who was stopping at the same time, I could hear from nehind me "f*ck f*ck f*ck f*ck f*ck!". I braced for the impact, which duly came. Followed by "really sorry really sorry really sorry". Luckily only into my shoulder and back, not my rear mech.
This is the problem with RLJ-ers and ped-crossing-runners, aside from the infringement itself. They assume everyone else follows the same rules they do, and ride inches behind someone else (me) without considering I might stop where they wouldn't. Grrrrr.

That'll be me. I spied it before he did and had long made my decision. Usually better to commit than change your mind half way through.

Had an oh-my-fking-god-I'm-going-to-die moment last night.

Residential street just North of Ladbrooke Grove Tube. Mini roundabout approaching, I'm doing 21-22mph & out of nowhere a big Merc pulls out from the road on my left. Back brake on & locks, mhoosive skid in the damp & I'm heading right for a full on broad-side, with the car just stopped in the middle of the road. The driver has a 'quizzical' look on his face with his brain clearly not able to fathom out what's happening. Luckily the slicks eventually got a grip and I stopped a foot or so from his door.

I gave him a stare & the international gesture of 'open your fekking eyes' and rode off with heart pumping.

Rant - dumb arsed drivers - nothing new there
Rant - me - getting too complacent/cocky recently. need to slow down a bit more.
Rant - winter - can we have nice dry summer back please

"Mirror - Signal - Manoeuvre" - the first 2 seem to be entirely optional these days!

    Ar$ehead!
  • Long wheelbase transit vans who overtake in a pinch point, then move out to the middle of the road when they have overtaken.

And yes, I did call you a wanker, and yes I would have explained the error of your ways had you actually pulled over and not just slowed then driven off quickly when you saw I did actually want to discuss the situation.

Got an email from the LBS who were replacing a spoke and truing my wheel on Wednesday so I walked up there this morning to collect it and as soon as I picked it up I spotted an almighty bulls up straight away. A silver spoke in a wheel where the other 31 spokes are black.
Their excuse was it was all we had in stock and wanted to get you back on the road asap.

Had an argument with an utter tool this morning who flew through the zebra crossing at Parsons Green at speed even though there were plenty of cyclists waiting and peds crossing.

He just couldn't see what he'd done wrong but he could have easily hurt someone badly. Cockwomble.

I've taken to shouting at RLJ'rs. Tried the aforementioned "cockwomble", but as beautiful as it looks on the page (and it is indeed a glorious word), it doesn't translate well to being yelled. I'll stick to the more traditional in future

Probably been said before, but.... If 25mm is fast becoming the new standard, why are all the funky coloured tyres 23mm only?

Fell victim to a thief on Friday. Had the air stolen from my front tyre, luckily I was only 1/4 mile from work and the tyre was rideable that short distance and I had the time to deal with it before I clocked in and got changed and grabbed my dinner.

Umbrellas in the wind, they are a nightmare, well more specifically the people carrying them are, it is like a form of modern jousting, only the people doing the jousting can't see where they are going. And as a relatively tall person the pointy bit on the end is invariably at my eye level. Think in the future I may try and bump them slightly off course so they are aiming towards the road and hopefully this will help to keep their numbers down!
