The film Prometheus: what a heap of over-wrought drivel.
The infantilisation of modern culture can I reckon be traced by the Alien franchise:
Alien - dark, inspired, tense, disturbing, brilliant
Aliens - racy, slick, too much set-piece action, sentimental kiddy stuff
The other ones - banal
Prometheus - emperors new clothes gash, a bit like Inception - a 'clever' film for idiots (thanks Nolan you charlatan)0 -

A mate of mine described it as "the attack of the penis monsters" before I saw it. He waxed lyrical about penises... oral sex and more penises
Naturally *ALL* I saw when I saw it, was dicks. Everywhere there were dicks.
I will never watch the penis presentation again. Just. No.Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Where the bloody hell is this storm of biblical proportions?! Was going to cycle in this morning but didn't fancy 40+ miles in torrential rain so got PT instead.
I feel robbed, and all because, in this day and age, we can't successfully predict the weather 8 hours in advance.
(I know I could've cycled anyway when I saw the drizzle but I assumed that it was the precursor to THE FLOOD)
Looking at the weather forecast on TV this morning the rain was due to hit the Brizzle area around 1pm, just after I get to work, it didn't. Other than a very few drops on the way home I had a dry commute.I should have packed my gabba. Wet dog look it shall be tonight
Packed mine with a base layer and was hoping to christen it tonight if raining hard enough but the few drops I felt as I walked to the bike shed meant the normal SS jersey sufficed.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Took the left pedal off the wrong way and shredded the thread. In my defence I'd done a 300 mile week and I was knackered and not thinking straight....Commute: Chadderton - Sportcity0 -

Do not just tear the old crank off with your bare hands MsManc!0 -
To be honest I used my foot on the pedal spanner after seeing it on Youtube. I knew I should be doing it clockwise, but it just wouldn't budge. Then I started doubting myself and tried it the other way and it moved, so I thought, oh, it must be this way. Hence one buggered up pedal and crank. Evans is sorting it hopefully (boss is on leave otherwise I'd ask him to do it) - pretty annoyed that I've now got non-matching cranks on a bike that's only 23 miles old.....Commute: Chadderton - Sportcity0

Ouch. You do know how to work out the left-hand and right hand thread rules, right?
There is a better explanation than this crappy diagram at the bottom of the page, but I can't find it.
Right hand pedals are right-hand thread, lefts are left.Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.0 -

The actions of these male cyclists is disgusting behaviour and makes me so mad. I know lots of the members here ride in that area and I am sure that no one posting here would be such a dickhead - but next time you go up Box Hill maybe spare a few breaths for some friendly hellos just to redress the balance0 -

I would say though, I do box fairly regularly and not experienced that sort of behaviour (either to myself of anyone else) it's always seemed quite friendly to me and its a hill that attracts a lot of riders of various abilities and bikes (roadies, hyrbirds, mtbs and even bromtons). Only last week, my friends and I stopped to help a guy who's chain broke near the bottom of the descent (Headley side).0 -

I think it is the sort of shameful act that only happens when there is no one else around...I think if most of the BR/SCR crowd overheard that sort of thing then the abuser would get very short shrift0 -
Had a slightly unnecessarily sweary go at a woman who pointlessly overtook me just before a mini-roundabout and then turned left in front of me.
Just as I realised it looked very much like our downstairs neighbour. Ooops.
In fact, no sod it, she was wrong.
Must cut down the sweary bits though.0 -
Almost took each others out with a couple of ducks.
They were taken on slowly (dog made them jump) and in a straight line one of them fly into my first wheel.
Luckily both of us ended up OK, and he made a quick runaway.0 -

Disgusting.
Some people need a good shoeing.
These people are not real cyclists, I'm sorry but they are not.
I'm not one for all this spiritual bobbins, but cycling is as near as I can get to anything like that and these gits ruin it for everyone.0 -
FFS, second morning puncture in as many days (and not even the same bike or route....) and it was already one of those mornings. I think I'm just going to sit here quietly and hope nothing else goes wrong.0

I have poor walking balance particularly with things like Escalators where the ground is both moving and not steady.
I know this, I go to headway, had nero physio, did I take care yesterday? did I heck. I came very close to falling head first down the escalators, in Kingston yesterday.0 -
Foxes. Spent the better part of ten years of my life in The Cronx attempting to stop them destroying my back garden, then the other day ran over the (apparently quite old) remains of a squished one doing some TT training. Staring at stem, not noticing until (literally) riding over it and getting a face full of ex-fox bits. At least now I know what that horrendous smell is you sometimes get a whiff of when riding down lanes - a decomposing fox.

Managed to forget to change the slow puncture I had last night between pumping it up at Herne Hill and getting home. Had a doh! moment when I wheeled the bike out of the garage this morning.

Yeah i read that whilst away and i have to say i'm not surprised, people are so bloody cruel. i'd say think about what you say before saying it but i suspect those people either don't think or can't.Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
