  • AAAARGH why for the love of god is my LBS simply unable to use a phone or emails? I don't appreciate in the slightest spending serious money on a frame and then not have a feckin clue when I'm going to use it!!!
  • 2/3 of the way in to work, pull up behind a car and realise my lights aren't flashing :( Look down, f**king battery pack has gone AWOL :( - must have been the pothole I bounced over 3 miles back :(

And I'm supposed to be riding down to Tonbridge tonight.... can't do that with no lights as the route isnt lit... bugger, means I'll have to go shopping at Cycle Surgery or Evans at lunch time...

Anyone know where I can get a replacement battery pack for Electron Terra 2 lights?

nearly had a head on with a stupid bint in a Ford Focus last night. Travelling through the water front at Liverpool last night, there is a road that is prioritised for traffic going one way (me) so the cars coming the other way (Ford Focus) should wait until i'm past.

its a single lane road so pretty narrow so what did the focus do? yeah you guessed it barged her way through i had to bunny hop onto the kerb to avoid her. Hopping aint easy at 20Mph with a head wind either

it was quite funny the look she gave me though, like i shouldn't be there

Of course you shouldn't have been there. Those are only for CARS, bicycles don't count as traffic so CARS have priority. Don't you know anything?
I have similar issues on the way home and often get the same thing, thankfully it's only a sort of chicane and I can bail if really bad. I get a bemused look as I shout "WAIT!!" at the twunts.

Had a call from the boys in blue this morning to tell me that the house I've got for sale was broken into last night and they've ripped out the hot water tank and most of the copper around the boiler (which is also destroyed). They've smashed two windows getting in and knackered the front door getting out.

I wonder what that will net them down the scrappy? £50?

Spent the bulk of the day driving there and boarding up windows.

Strangely I'm not livid with anger, more just tired and depressed and glad I no longer live there. Hateful place.

    MC, KJ,

Yes, fully insured thankf but it's still going to be £250 excess, hassle and time off work to get it sorted out. I can really just do without this cr*p.

Today down the tubes, Friday will follow as I have to meet the loss adjuster there at four and it will probably take three months to sort it out (on past experience).

I'm tempted to stick a sign outside saying that the first person to give me £40K can have the keys....

I hate banks and banking and economics and the government.

All I want is an account I can put the cheques I get paid into and when cleared, electronically transfer that money to my personal account. I do not want to have to pay £5+ a month for that privalege just because I am currently self employed.

What difference does it make whether I'm paying those cheques into a business account or a personal account.

I think it would be hilarious if you took this picture on your camera phone while overtaking another cyclist on the Bow flyover.

But you probably just have a helmetcam :(

Yes, alas just the helmetcam. The other thing is this must have been 25mph+, halfway down the down slope. To anyone that knows that flyover cars can pass you at 40+, the slightest wobble from him with a car close by and it's curtains.

What sort of chain? 8, 9 or 10 speed? 9 speed chains are 8 spped with thinner side plates so are surely inherently weaker. Are 10 speed weaker still? Although they have a narrower gap in the middle so may have more strength back in the side plates.

9 speed mate, the chain is an Deore LX too which is kinda middle ground for Shimano mtb stuff....

  • Had my first dangerous encounter with a car on the way home, partly my fault for not taking primary earlier. Was heading into a pinch point, 20mph limit I was doing about 21mph, road up ahead narrows into single lane... women behind goes to overtake and she either thought her car was smaller than it was or thought I was going slower. Anyway she couldn't make it, pulls in almost slams me off the road, I hit the brakes hard and shout to let her know I'm still on the inside. Thankfully I slowed down sufficiently and avoided an accident. Strangely enough I didn't feel nervous, I just got really angry. Got home in record time tho courtesy of adrenaline rush and needing the toilet :D

Definitely something in the air this morning. Nearly got wiped out by a Boris Biker jumping off a kerb into the cycle lane without looking, then another one blindly RLJs through Ped lights on Upper Thames St nearly taking out two women.

The d!ickhead quotiant down the embankment was epic. So many people, so little common sense and understanding of their own speed and ability. I could swear this fool of a woman was actively trying to take someone out- she was obviously obsessed with, but in no way had the speed for SCR- so resorted to cycling like an obnoxious twunt.

Bought software 2 weeks ago because we have been audited by the "BSA" an was told we need to purchase a license for Adobe Acrobat Pro

so found one on ebuyer which stated "full" license so bought it

send the license over to the BSA who after a few days threw it back to say "it doesn't recognise the license" so i send it back etc etc

just noticed on the package of the disk is a sticker covering something, so i peal it off an it states "Only to be bundled with Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Business - 1 user"

to me this is an OEM license an not full retail as stated on ebuyers website

spoke to the returns department who have said its outside the returns time (1 day out) so im stuck with software i cant register/ use grrrr

Wait, what? The BSA actually exists? I thought it was just a fictional boogey man meant to scare little sys admins?
