    Edit...
FYI, insurance is £730 with 2 year no claims. However I may have 3 years (I can't bloody remember!) which will take it down much lower. Tis a steal compared to maost of the hot hatches i've been looking at!
    How old are you?

I thought £250 was a lot for my 130bhp Passat Sport! And that's me and the missus!?

    22 :)
  • Ah, got a few years on you then

A day where you don't learn something is a waste...
  • not a bad quote imo.
Pug 206 GTi 180 was just over 1k.
    Pug 206 GTi was £800.
    Clio 172 cup was £900.
Nissan Skyline GT-T (the single turbo model)..... 12k (car was only 1.5k!!)

  • Well... I wouldn't say just french. I like european cars, just most of them are french lol. they (did) know how to make a good hot hatch. recent ones are crap. :(
  • The old 205 1.9 GTi was dangerous 8) even the 1.6 was fast!

  • Renault 5 GT-Turbo. That was a fast car.

But yea 205 gti was nice. mate bought one a while back (blind from ebay). needless to say the engine blew while he was hitting 100mph down a motorway slip road

Dad's mate had a 205 GTi 1.9 when they came out (think Dad had a mk1 GTi 1.8 with lots of "work" done on it straight from the factory).

He took it to Turbo Technics the day he bought it (new) and had some serious engine trickery done on it. Not sure what it kicked out but it must have been about 200bhp. It was completely and utterly LETHAL!

Dad's 400bhp V8 pickup was a laugh - looked almost completely stock until you heard the engine. He raced a fast Merc (500 SEC I think) up the A3 and utterly trounced it then...

... the propshaft snapped flinging the whole car about 4ft in the air. It landed in a shower of sparks and unfortunately the damage wouldn't "just polish out"

Not all, Megane R26/R26R, Clio 197. in fact I would go as far as to say that Renault have been the most consistent of all the Hot Hatch manufactures. It was just PSA (Peugeot citroën) that forgot what a hot hatch was  .
