  • Looks like a Condor cyclocross frame with Kona Project 2 forks, cable disks, Campag groupy, Look Keo pedals and a chunky lighting system. Pretty nice imho apart from maybe the forks which could be upgraded to carbon.

  • And i can never resist the opportunity to post a pic of my bike...

    road1.jpg

Specialized Globe Mity 2005 (Dahon Roo frame basically), with On-one Midge bar and MTB stem, Kona flat pedals and BMX tyres. That was summer mode, its currently now in winter mode, so its got knobblies (it gets muddy round 'ere) and twin headlights that make it think its one of those BMW motorbikes that Ewan McGregor rides across various bits of africa, and that also make people think i'm a police bike and get out of the way...

Been using it for the last 2 months to get to work. Actually, start of last week I caught the train to work for the first time in ages due to me suffering from the bird flu...what a fecken joke! Next day, even though I was on deaths door I rode in to work!!! So much less stress using the bike, even when sick as a dog!

Pinarello Sestriere in stripped down summer mode.
Steel frame, mostly campag centaur drivetrain, shimano brakes (need mudguard clearance) and pedals, mavic open pros on veloce hubs, arione saddle, deda bars and stem.

mailmannz - Why does your back brake line have a strange bend in it? and white tape attached?

The second rule of cycling is - Tell everyone how great cycling is !!!!
  • The white tape is just me being lazy (was on the bike when I got it, just havent found the time to take it off:)).

And I dunno about the brake line as Ive just looked at the bike (its in the hallway much to the wifes annoyance).

Am not going to show mine 'cos a) I don't have a photo of it and b) it's a bit sad and old (and is currently using an old toestrap to hold on the guards after the bolt fell out  )

My old bike ended up like this after a cab driver made a right turn across the bus/cycle lane. 444740080_f5451a1b1f_b.jpg. I broke my wrist and got a new bike!

  • I don't have a pic of my own bike (or rather the bike I have borrowed) but a quick search on Google image found the culprit.

No barends on mine, but otherwise the same. It's not much of a bike - hoping for a road bike in the new year.....

Claud Butler Urban Levante with Scott AT4 Pro Bars. For the Winter, I fit a light bar riser thingamybob to raise the front lights over the aerobars.

I bit unused at the moment but it's a decent enough steed.

Also bought a new Spesh Stumpjumper Comp to go with it.
Two Stumpjumpers, a Rockhopper Disk and an old British Eagle.

    Orbea Elgeta.

This bike is offered with an option of front suspension or a solid fork. In fact most Orbea's are available as "custom built" as you need. I went with a solid fork as most mileage is road with the occasional track/tow path. I then had Cycra Guards fitted by the dealer. Supplied by Epic Cycles who I recommend as superb.

I notice that the flash has picked out the reflective properties of the saddle bag trim and the tyres (Continental Sport Contact) :D

I bought them from Evans Cycles - many, many years ago. They are circa 1994. I contacted Scott in the US of A recently as the centre bridge is split at one of the bolt holes and I wanted to get either a new bridge or new set of bars - neither were available and they hadn't got anything lurking around in their warehouse either. (Araldited and sprayed the original one - which was that awful lime green colour)

Only 20" wide, which is a tad too narrow for an MTB (which is what they're designed for), but absolutely perfect for commuting - although I do have to have the right hand brake/shifter pod slightly higher than the left hand one to accomodate the cable cross over.

@ Bent-Mikey- forgot to say I thought I saw you on Vauxhall Bridge road in the summer. I was having a pint outside the Swan, you were waiting at the lights heading south towards the bridge... can't be many London Skaters 'bents in London... :?:

  • Probably being a bit daft here, but how do you upload images into your message?
  • Upload them to a hosting site such as Flickr. Then just copy and paste the link.
