    40 forums ? They're having a laugh aren't they ?

I always though the attraction of forums was that it gave the illusion of quite a small community. A virtual pub environment. Now we have Virtual Bluewater.

Gnargh! it just did that thing to me ankev - asked to log in again, and lost my post...

I hate it. I've had my username muscked about with, without so much as a by-your-leave. Adding 'cp' in brackets would have been more polite.

I hate the pictures in signatures, breaking up the text. I don't want to look at the same pic over and over, even of Patrick. If we must have them, why can't they be tucked over to the side, with the name and post count.

It's much harder on the eye. Cplus was very easy to read.

And it's far too big. As ever, someone thinks bigger is better, and lo and behold, it's unwieldy, inefficient and doesn't seem to work very well.

The best thing about it, in work terms, is that it might help me give up, but I have a lot of friends here, and I don't really want to lose that.

Apparently, there is another Arch, on one of the other forums, so we'll each have had a suffix added to say where we come from. CP, is Cycling Plus. It's happened to a few others. It would have been nice to have been asked, or at least informed. I couldn't log in at first, because I was trying to be Arch.

I have NOT, repeat NOT, married Simoncp.

Agree about the pictures. If people stop browsing at work the whole community of the place will die. Why did this happen? Did anyone ask us?

Everyone (at least everyone who formerly lived at C+!) seems to agree about the photos being a bad idea.

    Too many forums too.

Otherwise, I think it looks nice.

Especially moving ones! Someone has a joke Windows loading box, and I thought something had happened to my laptop!

Hi there everyone, I have managed to find my way through the maze. I have had a small look at the rest of the forum and it will take me a long time to find my way round.

Anyone got any ideas about how to get round the swear filter yet? My reaction to the new forum is going to need a few rude words.

Hm! Wonder if the [not big, not clever and will result in a ban - mod] filters are in place yet?

What I like about it is how the content of each post has been made so small. The menus, navigation elements and adverts are more important, so it is quite right they should get prominence.

I rarely came here anymore, anyway.

This is almost certainly the nail in the coffin.

What is that supposed to mean, admin? Is that a vaguely veiled threat that if we say there's things about this 'new! improved!' forum we don't like, we are going to get banned. In a sophisticated way, of course

Admin1, surely we can make a few allowances for established members testing the profanity filters on this new board to see how they operate! I assume this is what Eurostar was doing when he/she was banned?

edit to note this was crossposted with Charlotte.

I don't like it at all. Why is that sodding T3 ad covering up half the posts? How to I get rid of it? I go to work for a day and when I get back someone's changed all the locks. I preferred it where we used to hang out. :x

You can block it out, if its Firefox then you go to tools/options/content and uncross the "load images automatically", or you can download a blocker from the firefox homepage.

In Internet Explorer again use tools/internet options/advanced, go to multimedia and uncross the "play animations" and "show pictures"

I think theres a programme available somewhere to sort that one out as well that enables you to specify web addresses.
