P.S. that last bit about the two big sprockets won't matter anyway as you'd only be using them on the 39 ring for climbing I suppose.0
-
The Musselburgh 100 sounds fine. Count me in. We'll see about the club kit when I've seen it.
But I could always wear the socks, I suppose.
Grant, I'll check the calender but suggest we go for a lateish date. A RT is not a race and is more fun when it isn't freezing cold.
Have we decided on a date for the Christmas social, yet? I hope it's not 29 November.

Glad to see some others have already got an eye on the Dalmeny & Musselburgh audaxes (audaces?) as early-season curtain raisers. I think the Dalmeny one might normally run in April though - I remember something about the organiser saying it ran earlier than usual in 2008. Barring skating-rink ice I plan to be there.
EC - what's wrong with the 29 November.... aside from me edging one year nearer being a Veteran?0 -
Folks
Bob has booked the room at the Black Bitch for Friday 28th November.
8pm
There will be a cycling themed quiz! Plus Bob on the turn tables for a little, light, mood music!
Let me know if you can make it
See you there!

I'd be up for both the reliability and the audaxes. Be good to have something in teh diary for early 09.
Not sure I can make it along to teh Krimbo socila as of yet though - will need to wait and see.
Anybody planing to be out at the weekend?
Mike0 -
I won't be out tomorrow however I've cancelled my planned away day on Sunday so will come out if it's reasonable weather. If it's very wet I will go out on my own as I haven't got mudguards fitted yet.
Grant0 -
Mike,
I am going out on Saturday at 8am but I will be passing the KWM at 9am to meet the bunch.
Bill0 -
Hoping to be out on Sunday if it's a quiet night shift.
David
Sadly can't make the christmas night out as I am working that weekend0 -
Just checked the met office website which suggested that it is to be 8'C on Sunday with hail showers and 30 mph gusts. Think I will give it a miss and just go to bed at 8am after work as I am still waiting for my goretex jacket to be delivered and the one I am using at the moment is certainly breathable but only because of the holes in it.
Maybe see everyone next week.

Tobias,
Later on in spring sounds fine to me for the reliability trial

Weather man say "2 drops with black cloud" for Saturday
See you at the KWM at 9, plan to set out at 8 too!
OS 650 -
Rain and wind for Saturday? That's more like it. That sunshine last week was hard to cope with Will be out on Saturday but pile of work to do Sunday.
Jim0 -
Bit of a late night on Saturday so didn't make it down to the Cross for 9. Limped out for a ride on my tod about 9.30 up into Bathgate Hills and along to South Queensferry on various back roads - about 40 miles in all. Bit windy but good to blow the cobwebs away.
Bill - apologies, but won't be able to make it along to the session tomorrow night.0 -
Hey BIll
Where did you go after I left the group on Saturday.
Anyone out on Sunday? Who was in the group -where didya go?
OS 650 -
Sunday was supposed to be my cycling day however if chickened out due to the weather and spent the afternoon trying to set up a front derailleur on my new geared bike - AAAARRRGHHH!!!
I aim to be out next Saturday morning as the other half and my daughter are off to see High School Musical 3 (and I didn't get an invite )0 -
Hi Matt
You'll never guess (and I bet you are now regretting that you didn't come with us) but we went to Slamannan. Yes, the one that is rapidly replacing Rome as the ultimate destination of every road.
After soaking up the atmosphere, we carried on via Longriggend and this other well-known Black Hole, Avonbridge, back hame. We split up just after Avonbridge - Bill, Andy and Mark returned via Westfield and Jim, John and I through Candie and down past the country park.
It was a good ride, mind, and I certainly felt my legs after returning home. Total mileage on my clock was 43 miles.
We also agreed that we'd like a revote on the jersey. I thought you would like this one
Cheers,
EC0 -
HA ha ha yeah a re-vote
The SNP probably want one in Glenrothes too
Cheers for the update on the ride
What's wrong with Slammanan? I often take Mrs OS65 and Junior OS65 on day trips there

64 Pages !!
Blimey, you guys/gals need a category on the Forum all for yourselves !
"There are no hills, there is no wind, I feel no pain !"
"A bad day on the bike is always better than a good day in the office !"0 -
Nothing wrong with Slamannan, it's just seems to be impossible to avoid on a Saturday ride. Wherever we go, we end up riding through it. You take your family on day-trips to Slamannan??? For the prize-winning bacon rolls, I take it.
Bill, come on support me on the re-vote for the kit. You're the man in charge, are you not.
Is it really 64 pages. Oh dear, we should write less and ride more.
EC0 -
Re-Open Nominations on the kit! Either that or a public naming and shaming over who voted for it (Unless Bill's well down the road with the ordering, in which case best not to rock the boat).================================
Cake is just weakness entering the body0 -
Not ordered yet so we can resubmit the design if everyone wants a re-vote??
Matt, send us all your new designs to have a look at and we can do it again !!!!
Bill0 -
Here is the breakdown of the voting
You can see that it was close, but the majority wanted the chequer pattern. You can also see from the breakdown that that jerseys 4 and 5 were awarded more 3, 4 and 5 points.
More people disliked Jersey 5 than 4
Four voters did ask for Jersey 4 to be red rather than yellow, if you add that to the numbers voting for the red shirt (5) then it could be construed that Jersey 4 could have its colour changed to red. But then we are starting to manipulate the result.

I don't have a problem with you manipulating the results.
Didn't you say you've come up with some brilliant new designs? Let's see them0 -
I've sold the brilliant new designs to rapha
The members have voted, My favorite didn't win either And I designed the bloody lot!
Actually my favourite didn't even get onto the shortlist

HA HA HA!
That could be our motto!

Bill found considerably hillier roads to Slamannan than usual
I'm thinking of getting a holiday home in Slamannan. Great view of the bings. Why is it not featured by VisitScotland?0
