Donald Trump

Not going to approach anything he does with anything approaching an open mind or the benefit of the doubt. It's a strategy proven over the years.

Meh the reality of the situation is that Trump was caught not making a sign of respect because he couldn't be arsed to hold his hand up to his heart for all of the few seconds it took for a coffin to go past. There's then another picture where it looks like he's rubbing his tummy having presumably drunk too many diet cokes.
I'd say it's a reasonably minor thing in the grand scheme of things though...

Does this sum things up concisely?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Is it a generally accepted thing to do in the UK? I wouldn't have known to do it, but then I've never been to a big funeral.

Certainly can't remember seeing it at the Queen's funeral. But then we typically don't go all hand on heart for the national anthem, whereas they do in the US.

Basically a rule for U.S. forces personnel. They have to stand to attention, hand on heart, any time they hear the national anthem. Saw it done once at the cinema in the U.K. at the start of The Poltergeist.
Different but similar principle.
