I'm assuming they were seated in order of presidency. I suspect Obama will have quite liked the idea of Trump having to sit next to someone he obviously hates.

Being undecided on the character of Trump is a bold position to take at this point in his career.

Just to add, I've been equally critical of Trump in the past. I mentioned after listening to one of his elections speeches it was just a load of waffle, talking for talking sake.
I just think sometimes people here are more concerned with backing up their stance rather than the actual truth.
