Looking like you're mad shit might be the right move when you're up against dictators.

This is just chaff for domestic consumption.

We'll see.

Even if you take it at its face value, it's not like a us president who says he's going to annex Canada and Greenland is going to have Russia and China scared thinking he's going to have a problem with them taking Ukraine or Taiwan.
It's just mad shit with nothing more behind it.

Day 1 is going to be interesting as there is so much "going to get done".
I suspect very little will be done and dusted besides some posturing.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

We already did with his previous 4 years that ended with an attempted coup. Anyone who thinks Trump has some kind of wider strategy hasn’t been paying attention.

Yup, as before, he'll just spew mad nonsense that has been planted in his brain through flattery or his complete miscomprehension of, well, just about everything.
Under the cover of that chaff, the billionaires and white male supremacists behind Project 2025 will be putting their project into action as fast as they can.

Well, the vast majority of you clearly haven't been paying attention recently, as you didn't predict Biden stepping down, or the Republican's winning for that matter. I don't remember any of you predicting interest rates rising from historic lows either.
Mind you to your credit, you seem to know how to cook rice.

Turns out you have not been paying attention to my posts then. Wrong on all counts.

Actually, I take that back. None of you mentioned using brown rice.

Absolutely everyone predicted interest rates would rise from historic lows. Because they were historic lows and couldn't go any lower.
Most people also, for every election in the US, predict that the democrats or republicans might win and that it might be close.
But not may people predicted that Biden would step down as late as he did, including Biden. Because it's never happened before.
What's your point again? Eat more roughage?

My rice cooker does that too.

About 5-10 years too long to be reassuring unfortunately.

Xi, Putin and Netanyahu are all 70+, but that could be mean another 20 years.

Just for timescale context WWII only lasted 6 years. Four if you are American.
There was only 20 years between WWI (the war to end all wars) and WWII. 15-20 years is a long time.

Some suggested that interest rates could be negative I think, and there were a handful of economists who suggested low interest rates were a forever thing.
I'd have said that most thought that at some time interest rates would likely go up, it's only a useful prediction if you can predict the time at which they go up.
I'm pretty sure I said the election was a bit of a coin flip. It turns out that Trump had a much stronger result than I would have predicted, but then high inflation is an absolute killer for politicians.

It was posted in 2013 if that helps.

4 to 9 years does help!

Ah I thought getting into his 90s was being a bit optimistic. Although he does have god on his side, ‘til he falls out with her of course.

I don't see how King Charles can stand for an American President thinking he can just take Canada off him?
A task force must sail?

It would be a tough choice for Canadians (easier for Canadiens) if they had to choose between the two.
Most would choose "none of the above".

Yup! Some people have a very strange notion about the strength of our military.

That's surface vessels, there's 9 subs on top of that. Have to admit I'm surprised how few destroyers we have, it felt like I regularly saw more than 6 when we used to spend a bit of time in South Devon.

(goodness I am pulling this out of nowhere but...) part of that is becasue The Destroyer as a concept of a war canoe is now pretty defunct as naval warefare just doesnt look the same as it once did.
(now you're going to ask me what it does look like and I will have to say that i don't know...)
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence
