I thought from the replay that the Dutch rider lost control of his bike before the collision. I don't know why. But no intent.

The DQ is pretty meaningless post race as they came nowhere. 1000chf but no ban for the rider. Not sufficient IMO.

“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Neah Evans clipped Kopecky's rear wheel on the last lap of the scratch and crashed, seems OK but last place

Valente wins, Kopecky 17th. Dideriksen in 6th for all you viking followers ;-)

Confused - Finucane's helmet and visor half way up her face. Clearly not what is intended by the aerosynamicists.

Jack Carlin channeling prime Chris Hoy in the keirin quarterfinal. Threading a needle between some enormous slabs of muscle

Neah Evans still not much luck, tried to get out in front a couple of times but was maybe a little desperate and possibly a touch banged up. Finishes 18th, so unless she absolutely smokes the devil and points there won't be a medal.

Valente second to Irishwoman Lara Gillespie, Kopecky 6th, Dideriksen 7th

Should probably mention Georgia Baker had a solid 3rd and 4th, which is why she's 2nd overall

Emma Finucane takes bronze in the sprint. Hope she's not disappointed, she came for the gold

Valente is looking ridiculously good in the omnium, takes the devil.

Georgia Baker also very strong taking 2nd and staying in 2nd.

Bronze place needs a lap and two points to reach gold right now.

Amalie 8th to hold her 4th overall, in the discipline that traditionally blows up Danish medal hopes in the omnium.

Kopecky 4th to get up to 9th.

Turnbull not riding the 7-12 final keirin as he's banged up. The German who went down in front of him is riding, in a torn up skinsuit

Lavrysen takes gold in the keirin, Carlin was way out of position then crashed badly with the Japanese and Malaysian riders

A hectic points race, Valente strong and saw it through to the gold

Not sure what happened to Georgia Baker, who didn't take a single point and slipped to 5th overall from a solid silver.

Polish and NZ riders took two laps and jumped to silver and bronze, Kopecky also two laps for fourth, Amalie got a lap but couldn't defend after and slipped to 7th overall

That concludes reporting from the OL track for the next four years!

In other sports, Denmark are absolutely destroying Germany in the handball gold medal match. This will be the last match for Denmark's Mikkel Hansen, widely regarded as one of the greatest players ever.

Average Rob's youtube from the road race is quite fun, if you like loud and excitable Belgians
