For some reason I read that as Autistic events, like boxers kind of avoiding one another in opposite corners.

Britain won a gold medal in Town Planning in 1928 for a sports centre with a stadium in Liverpool.
Looking at some of those medallists, it must be a kick in the teeth when they give you a bronze medal but don't give out a silver or gold. I'm looking at you, Rudolph Simonsen, bronze in orchestral composition in 1928.

Any sport that relies on judges at the Olympics is akin to the Eurovision Song Contest, in my book.
As Mad Maix said I would keep any sport that can be timed or measured or viewed on a target etc removes the inherent subjective element.
I also include team vs team sports on my list.
Beach volleyball has been questioned but it’s ok in my book as it’s a head to head competition.

Possible exception is ski jumping, because achieving the furthest distance alone might entail using a style that would result in serious injury or death.

So we're talking about removing gymnastics, diving, artistic swimming, freestyle bmx, dressage, eventing, skateboarding, surfing, and maybe boxing, taekwondo, judo and wrestling.

I am having a hard time picturing Louis Armstrong or Miles Davies on an Olympic podium picking up their gongs.
Still they could play their own anthems while they were there, instead of having piped music.

Solo synchronised swimming => synchronised with the music! But it's artistic swimming now, so it hardly matters.

Hayter reaps the benefits of staying at the front of the bunch....well I never.

Quite out of character!

Commissaires had a nightmare again. Started off with a missed bell ring, then all sorts of fuck ups and chaos

Case in point: Once the judges got involved in the elimination race in the men’s omnium, it became a farce.
Gaviria booted out and Benjamin Thomas reinstated.
The Frenchman eventually finished third.
Rob Hatch had a rant.
In amongst the mess Ethan Hayter was supreme. Spent most of the event on the front.

From a Danish perspective the first bell miss was really annoying as that's when he was investing effort on being on the front, think it buggered him up a bit, he certainly had a crap race after

Meanwhile, Laura Kenny’s track gold medal prediction disappears even further over the horizon.

A different Noah Lyles after the 200m final. Always on the back foot and so well beaten, he ended up third. Seemed in a fair fit of distress afterwards too.
Maybe strained his ego?

tbh I am often more impressed with the field performances on the tv
hard to really see how fast the runners are without being there. Though IRL it is ridiculous how fast they run

He’ll be passing more round than the baton, tomorrow, in that case.

WR in the women's 400m hurdles. Femke Bol gets a medal though.

The American flew round,. Shouldn't be too upset when beaten by a WR

Bol looked knackered. Some way below par.
Paying for that mixed relay gold, no doubt.
SM-L now running men’s times.

(Oh look, MJ saying Bol didn’t run her own race, running A-B fastest, and that’s why she was rubbish. Never mind)

Yes, she is basically the Usain Bolt of 400m hurdles, miles ahead of the rest. I think she has broken her own WR 3 or 4 times.

It all started off promisingly with the Team Sprint and has all faded a bit. Finucane's performance in the keirin perhaps does not bode well for the individual sprint, looked like she didn't have the legs.
