Is the 4 year old video bit right?
Apparently the lawyer representing the claimant has said: "My client is aware that this complaint could have far-reaching consequences for Ms Dujardin, including disciplinary sanctions. My client had to think long and hard about whether to bring this to your attention this way."
That doesn't really track with the video being that old.

4 years was reported when it was first breaking yesterday.
Edit - just checked and the solicitor is quoted in The Telegraph (yeah, I know but surely they would get that sort of detail right) as having happened in 2022. My cynicism of the motives remains.

Well they certainly thought long and hard about it then....

2.5 years according to Sky Sports article on the matter. Not condoning the whipping but it does seem convenient timing to have the maximum devastation.

Don't think the decision to rejig the Pentathlon to exclude horses was due to the punch. There's long-since been a feeling that the horse riding element skews the event in favour of those who have the luck to be born into the horsey set, so ditching the horses make the event more accessible.

Less about maximum devastation and more about maximum profit.

I think the issue was more that the horse element really was luck of the draw. People were chucked on horses they'd never seen before and given little time to get used to them. I think there were a lot of questions in Tokyo on whether some of the horses were up to the task. It's a shame as I actually really like the concept of the Modern Pentathlon.

They were all up to the task with decent riders. They were all tested before the event.

Stick 'em on a MTB course instead.
What wll they replace the riding with, or will it become the quadratholon?

I think we're both right here. With the "luck of the draw" element, the more experienced riders - i.e. those born into the horsey set (*) - would have more chance of minimising their losses on a disruptive horse.
I like the event, but it's been struggling for relevance for some years, with the schedule and structure constantly tinkered with. It was formerly known as the "Military Discipline", covering the skills an army officer would need to prosper. But it's been a while since anyone has needed to fence for "King and Country"! I guess it's heyday was when the Russian guy got DQd for having a button to register fake "hits" in his sword handle - you can't beat a bit of Cold War politics and sport mixing on the global stage!
(*) Ironically, given the horse angle here has been kicked off by CdJ's "misjudgement", despite having a "posh" name, her background is not the typical upper-class horsey type.

What's posh about Charlotte of the Garden? If it was Gardens big style then ok

That's not her name though, is it?
But I would guess that back during the London OG gold rush, most folk would have assumed that anyone doing dressage with a French surname would be posh.

Yep, MTB instead.

Obstacle course racing (I’m serious) from 2028. A bike based event would have seemed more logical considering they already have running.

A piece on some cloak and dagger stuff from USADA in 2015, how all those Kenyan runners got busted

That's just shocking they felt they could game the system and claim security to hide a cheats identity.

Has me wondering whether some of the USA’s staggering performances on the track this week, are just coincidental.

USA's swimmers have underwhelmed on the whole, so maybe there's a "hitting taper" element to performance levels.

I don't think that's what it is at all, I think it relates directly to the story of recruiting Kenyan runners on the US circuit ælointed above. I don't think it suggests that the athletes were allowed to continue to dope once caught and recruited

Just a bit of methamphetamine in an inhaler, have a tournament off and see you soon. Pretty sure that's minimum two years in a WADA sport

Proof that golf is a game and not a sport?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Does that not mean he'll never get selected for the Olympics, or is it just that he'll never get signed by INEOS. Can't remember which.

Yeah like all the banned “heart medication” the Chinese swim team got busted for was just a cooking ingredient mistake. No worries, according to WADA. 🤷🏼♂️

Doesn't it show Kasia Niewiadoma had an out of competition positive for cannabis? Which will likely surprise no-one as she is married to Taylor Phinney.
