2024 Transfer Rumours (and confirmed signings)

Bigham is now a Team GB funded track athlete, not sure how that would play with him also working for a pro cycling team

Pim Ronhaar to ride for Lidl-Trek as a stagiaire for the rest of the season.

Not sure that's any issue, plenty of the track team are road racing as pros as well

He also said in that interview they had graciously offered him unpaid leave for 3 months 🤣
I wonder if him leaving will make Ganna and Tarling think twice, and maybe look at other offers - I appreciate the latter has only just put pen to paper.
It does feel as if they have totally lost their way. Realistically they have no real GC contender, and have not had for some time, but at least they were still up there in the TT's, with Bigham's expertise, but now he's off, and presumably going to UAE or Visma at some point you would think?
He's already done some contract work for one of the big teams, though I forget which one, I want to say EF, but I'm not sure that makes much sense.

Ganna was more successful before he joined. I'm not sure it'll be that big a deal.

I was thinking exactly the same.

EF have often made noises about targeting the stuff where they can level the playing field by being better prepared - TTTs a case in point - so wouldn't be surprising if they had used him at some point to try and steal a march.
What EF say, what EF do, and what EF deliver are three separate things though, so...

I think Ganna is more tied to Pinarello than to Ineos or Bigham.

I thought that Bigham had already left due tot the conflict of interest with Ganna.
As for Ineos, they may very well have lost their way. There doesn't seem to be a big personality running things.
However, it's clear to me for the the transfers over the last few years, that they don't have the budget that some report. UAE are the biggest, Visma, Lidl Trek and Bora-Red Bull probably have more these days.
But ultimately the biggest problem they have is they don't have the best rider. So much of their success was due to Chris Froome. But he was denigrated by media for some reason. He was portrayed as someone who only won due to his team (which is nothing compared to the current UAE and Visma line ups), In reality he loomed over all their Tour wins, even Berrnal's.

Maybe fire to the frying pan?

I agree to an extent, but they seem to be fumbling around at the moment with no sense of direction, and people running the team with little track record of success. In fact arguably, the opposite.

I can see Ineos ditching sponsorship. When you’re boasting down the billionaires club having a cycling team doesn’t really cut it when all the others have a football team. Radcliffe will put all his resources into United. It’s not such an attractive proposition for a new sponsor as it was when Sky dropped out either.

I can see this^, and the team fizzling away into multi-sponsor harlequin obscurity.

Until they announced the development team I was convinced they'd be gone by the end of 2025. I get the impression Radcliffe is a bit of a cheapskate by billionaire standards.

Ineos own the team. They’re not ditching sponsorship without selling it. They knew RB wanted to buy a team. If they wanted out that was the deal.

He should be doing better than that, but it's probably his level now.

You either need a big personality or a robust system to make all the elements within a team work properly, and right now it doesn't feel like Ineos have that.

Simon Carr is moving to Cofidis on a three year deal.

Juliette Labous' much reported move to FDJ-Suez has been confirmed this morning, also on a three year deal.
The expectation is that Demi Vollering and Elise Chabbey will also be signing for them.

Oh no! He was having such a good season up until the Giro.
Guess he's back to being See-mon then.
