Worst England Manager in my lifetime (and there are some strong contenders). A lot of media outlets still insist on interviewing him after every tournament about how England did, and he has the balls to criticse them and talks about his own tenure like he was Alf Ramsey.

I was thinking about this earlier, the pipeline of Scottish players into the PL seems far lower than it used to be, and Robertson aside, the quality of the top players is nowhere near that of the 70s-90s. Having had a look at some stats, there are only around 25 Scottish players in The PL, and less than 5 of those are regular starters. It seems in the earlier decades, it was 2 or 3 times that many, and Scottish players accounted for nearly 10% of all goals scored, now it barely registers.
I assume a big part of it is that most English clubs don't scout much around the UK any more, they are more focussed on the continent in all likelihood.

I'd suggest that paying money to watch Brechin play on a wet Saturday says more about the fans than the quality of football.

Seriously though, is it not an opportunity to not do the exact same thing yet again? It isn't a friendly, but surely he should play someone with some pace on the left and give Shaw a half of football. I mean there's no point saving him if he's still an unknown in the more important game.

He will make changes, but unlikely to be drastic, expect 1 or 2 I would suggest. I have a feeling Gallagher will come in for TAA. I hope not, I understand Southgate wants pace and energy, but we need control at the base of midfield and that should be Wharton or Mainoo.

Stupid Euro's format. Half of the third placed teams go through - done on points, goal difference etc.
Hence England already qualifying - as even if they finish third in the group they have enough points to put them in the top half of third placed teams.
