Scotland humiliated by getting tanked in Germany

Souness has to be the most boring, mean spirited, anti-entertainment pundit ever.
What a prick. Get him off the telly.

Having him and Roy Keane together wasn't great. Happily, ITV punditry is almost entirely prevented by adverts.

Fair point. I appreciate why they are there (to give counterpoint and therefore discussion) but it should only be one or the other, never both.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I find it hard to listen to either of them criticise a bad tackle.

Some pundits are worse than others but regardless, I just watch the game and generally ignore the punditry.

Certainly on TV. The likes of James Richardson et al. have a bit more to say, but I just turn the sound off for Bland Broadcasting Corporation, or Idiot TV.

I was going with 4-0 which I think qualifies as a spanking, so at least I got the goal difference right. Not sure Germany were great last night but they didn't have to be as Scotland were utterly shyte and it could have been a bigger scoreline.

The Scots are now doing what England fans usually do after a major tournament shitshow - and clamoring for some bloke no one has heard of to be played in the next game, as though a midfield workhorse is somehow going to be a silver bullet.
When I was growing up I remember in deepest England some naively rooted for the other home nations as well, blissfully ignorant of the ABE attitude.
So having lived up there and experienced just how mean spirited and uncharitable the Scots really are towards my home country, my feeling is overwhelmingly of schadenfreude.

I expected more of Scotland but they seemed to get so caught up in whatever shape they were supposed to be holding that they just didn't engage with the opposition - well until one of them engaged Gundogan's leg with both boots.
I get the impression the ABE sentiment has grown in recent decades as Rangers fans have been turned off the national team a bit and with the rise of Scottish nationalism.

The other home nations not qualifying for so long didn't help either.

That second goal really was a beaut

What's the German word for schadenfreude?

What does it mean if a football player wears florescent yellow boots?

A car is less likely to drive over his toes. I think.

Lot of talk about TAA playing as a holding mid tomorrow. Initially I thought this was mental but the more I think about it maybe it's not a bad idea if he's allowed to drift out wide right to provide width and Walker just defends more so he doesn't get caught up field . Would work better with a player ahead who starts right but likes to drift inside to leave space on the outside like a Palmer or Foden rather than Saka.
Pros - Walker stays in position so our CBs don't get pulled out wide.
- Lets Foden drift inside while still keeping some width.
- Bellingham in the 10 which Gareth seems to like and Foden in the team..
- Get's TAA in the position he's most threatening without having him defending 1v1
Cons - Only 1 holding mid - though Foden coming more central stiffens the central area a bit and Walker is defending more.
- I don't think TAA will be great at actually protecting the defence

Just watched the Rooney documentary on the BBC. Man, what a rush that tournament was. Would love to see someone just running at defences again.

I didn't know there was a 'who's got the nicest fans' competition. Claim your plastic trophy now and let's watch the footy.
