The theme is the under 35s are pissed off annd angry with whoever has been in charge for the last decade.
here it’s the Tories who turned themselves into a far right pensioner party.
abroad centrist right or centre coalition governments have been in charge for a long time so they’re flocked to the far right.
Either way, they’re angry the services they get are dogshit and they’re angry they’re priced out of home ownership and starting a family.

On a more light hearted note *this* is how you win a seat.
Excellent stuff. Invite the town to a party. Get them smashed and then lay on a bus to the polling station. 😁

This is what they need to do to any politician, of whatever party, if they won't answer questions:

His fellow Conservatives appear to hope he loses.

So they don’t think Starmer is Leftie enough to be scary to voters and have to use the bogeyman of Rayner instead?

So some Surrey blokes aren't happy with the Tories. Hold the front pages.
But in the meantime, carry on dreaming about rejoining the EU. After these EU elections, seems like they may not want a bunch of lefties as members 🙂

Haha, local Tory candidate puts up Facebook post, then has to delete most of the comments, even though he's desperately avoiding mentioning anything to do with national politics.

Holden keeps saying his constituency is no more which is true but the people in it still exist. Large area have moved into one where the Conservative MP has stood down. Surely he could have stayed with the area he claimed to love so much and fought there. No wonder the other red wall conservatives are angry.

He is 39 years old! I don't want to be rude but I honestly would have put him in his late 40's to early 50's.
At least he has plenty of time ahead of him to forge a new career once he has been kicked out of the Tory party.

Looking likely that Labour will ditch their plan to reintroduce the Pensions Lifetime Allowance.

On account of it being obviously a bad idea.

They could have saved themselves a year or so of angst by realising that when the abolition was announced.
It is logical to have an annual contribution allowance and not a lifetime value allowance, to have both was always pretty daft unless the lifetime allowance was so high that only a tiny, tiny percentage of people were affected.

Good news.
Labour for once have gone up slightly in my estimations.

We will be on holiday for the election so applied for postal votes a week ago, my wife just rang them to query something and discovered that the lostal votes won't be sent out until after we leave. So, if you are going on a 2 week holiday getting back the weekend after the election you need to get a proxy to vote for you.

They are fairly arbitrary definitions, but Cambridge and Oxford are really part of the SE economy.

FWIW I think I have decided I can't vote for the LDs this year. Took a look at the MP and what they've been involved in. It's exclusively stopping development.
It's a campaign to stop the Gove plan to massively increase Cambridge, a campaign to divert funding for a new swimming pool to saving an existing one (that no-one uses), to stop the now absolutely dead shopping mall being developed into commerical laboratories.
Can't in all good consciousness vote for that.

If you think that's a reach, imagine if Milton Keynes was in the southeast?

Why do you need a new swimming pool if no one uses the existing one?
0 -
That will play well with the Churchill loving patriots they are looking to get votes from.

Ah okay. Is the old one listed with nice ironwork and wotnot?

No it's just decrepid and a sh!thole and nothing is nearby. Surrounded by students who would be using their college facilities and not facilities open to joe public.
Meanwhile, the proposal is to put one near an already populated massive new development where there will actually be families who will want to use a swimming pool.

I see the Lib Dems are trying attention grabbing tactics with their policy of allowing local councils to raise council tax on second homes by up to 500%.

Snap election = not enough time for vetting.
Alrighty then.

And the greens are worse because they kicked out the dodgy candidates.
