I mean I think it's very disrespectful and am neither boomer nor particularly patriotic. It was literally the last big anniversary that any surviving veterans are likely to be alive.
I can believe that if you can see the wheels coming off your campaign you might in a moment of panic make a misjudgement but it just beggars belief that nobody around him tried to intervene.

Have i got it right that the interview he recorded yesterday isn't due to be aired in full until next Wednesday?
Unless it's just a general chitchat, it's got a big risk of looking quite out of date by then. A week on, he's going to still be shown on tv talking about the dodgy numbers and being a liar.

On a photographic level, I'm amazed they left just Cameron in the shade... mind you, kinda sums up the fiasco perfectly.

It rather reinforces the observation that they are really incompetent at absolutely everything.

There's a non-zero probability he has to resign.

I actually hope he stays: he's ended up being as toxic to the Tories as Corbyn was to Labour.

Damned inconvenient of them to decide to have their D-Day commemorations in the middle of his election campaign if you ask me.

He was doing better than Starmer until the D-Day balls up. Optically that's pretty bad, especially when you consider who that's likely to go down badly with.

Yeah but what do you think about Sunak's political ability and ability to arrange and govern things versus Starmers? Forget optics for a moment - do you think he is a more capable PM than Starmer?

People asking 'who on earth is advising him?' , given his petulant snippy attitude shown in public, and the fact he is taking time out to double down on an obvious and proveable lie, its not hard to see that he would be dismissing any advice he is given. As people have said elsewhere, albeit for self promotion reasons, even Johnson would have been all over that ceremony yesterday.

That's a very theoretical way of looking at things. Empirically, it doesn't seem to be that hard, particularly for those exposed to US markets.

Yep definitely. Sunak's complete lack of self-awareness continues to surprise me.

Tricky to compare apples with apples here as Starmer has not yet had the chance to show us his ability to cock things up. Which is likely, but hard to judge at this stage.

Why is Jeremy Clarkson's farm manager from Clarkson's Farm in the photo?

Yep, that was the point I was trying to make. If it comes across as disrespectful to us though it really isn't going to go down well in the circles where the Tories are trying to retain what little vote share they seem to have left.

It's pretty bad when I'm sitting here thinking a bit more competence would be good

Forget Starmer, have I got the ideal candidate from you. He'll never let you down (amongst other things):

Add to this the upside down Union Jack in their campaign video earlier in the week and it would appear that the incompetence of the politicians themselves is matched by the advisors, media managers, planners and activists around them.
Just for fun, can anyone name a more clumsy, inept and laughable organisation in the UK right now? (non-fictional)

Exactly. Blair without the flair hasn't done the job yet, so what are we meant to judge him on?
