I do not know, but a bit of restorative justive would probably go a long way. Learn to forgive is something that would benefit society a great deal.
Unrelated, but from 1999 a public prosecutor in Italy decided that Pantani had to become the example, to eradicate doping practice from sport.
The result is that he developed severe mental health issues and was found dead five years later… in 2004 the sport was not cleaner than it was in 1999… maybe things should have been handled differently and maybe in this case the guy should be
eft alone, before he decides to turn the gun on himself…
£4k would be an insult, snd will not go to the cat owner anyway.
Perhaps I am imposing my own values on the situation in wishing for terrible things to befall this vile young person, but I am okay with that.
Do you advocate them losing their jobs?
The shooting industry is big up here, and the even dirtier secret is that the birds themselves basically starve to death after the hunting season. I detest that particular type of cuntry folk, by and large.0 -
I get it's a vested report but this says otherwise. I was interested to read as I shoot, not very well I add, a couple of days a year and am not a fan of the 'massacres' of birds which end up going into an incinerator. I get it's a totally pointless sport, but I do enjoy it, so like to find some way of partially clearing my conscience.
The two large estates I have shot at are actually farms for large european food processors, so they export most of what is shot overseas, now that lead laws have changed.

If feline transmission was to be a thing, wouldn’t have been a simpler solution to enforce taping of the cat flaps?DeVlaeminck said:

Taking away the emotion of a beloved kitty cat being involved, at a basic level he willfully destroyed someone else’s property.1

My brother goes (lives in the Scottish borders and works in forestry management so it's basically part of the job like golfing might be down here). We eat them and they taste niceshirley_basso said:I get it's a vested report but this says otherwise. I'm reminded of this More or Less podcast from 2020, about 21 minutes in (the bit before is a bit of a blast from the past, COVID testing!) about pheasant biomass in the UK. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000jmm3
Fundamentally different to shooting someone's pet cat anyway, even disregarding the animal welfare issues, shooting someone's private property (their pet) is a bit of a different proposition to an organised shoot (unless you're poaching!).0 -
As long as we agree that the difference is, as you suggest, property and therefore the monetary and emotional value of the cat, Vs the non value of the pheasant, then we are on the same wavelength. Other than that, life is life, a wild bird's one shouldn't be worth less than that of a domestic pet.bobmcstuff said:

If that is the only difference, then it seems to me the just punishment is a fine... which is what he got... we might argue whether 4k is a suitable value, or that should be 10K or whatever, but still money is

back wearing the white jersey, really pleased he turned it around

Has he turned it around or has he just become successful? Doing well in races doesn’t mean he’s no longer an immature idiot but hopefully he has grown up.

As someone who often finds neighbouring cats’ poos in my garden, I have no particular sympathy for people who let their cats wander around. They are also untraceable, so which of the neighbours should I blame?
I have also had a bike accident, which could have been more serious, courtesy of a cat running into my front wheel out of nowhere.
So, with my loose cats hater hat on, I say give the guy a break and keep them fuxxing cats behind closed doors

We need number plates for cats.
1 -
something like that.
I just don’t think pets should roam free in the streets. You wouldn’t let your dog do that, so why is it ok for a cat? If you don’t have secure space to contain your feline, then do not get one.
If we really really have to have these things roaming around, then at the very least they should be easily traceable and insured, so yes, number plates indeed
left the forum March 20230 -
All cats are now required to be microchipped by law so they are indeed traceable. As for insurance, for what exactly?
I am biased as I have always had cats as pets, but to answer the containment question. You cannot contain a cat if it wants to go outside (and the majority do). They will either find a way to escape, or if you are genuinely successful at keeping it indoors, they will make your life an utter misery by shredding furniture and constantly meowing until you let them out.
I once had a magpie that was fighting another magpie on the pavement, literally rear up and (quite deliberately) kick the other magpie into my oncoming path. It flew into my rear wheel and unfortunately had its neck broken in the spokes. Happened so quickly and at random there was nothing I could do to stop. Not very pleasant.
1 -
in other words you are saying that cats are not compatible with a life in captivity, which is fine, they should not be kept as pets, certainly not in built up areas.
Microchipping is only useful if you have the microchip reader, otherwise how am I going to prove that the cat shxxtting in my garden is one rather than the other?
I am quite fed up they can trespass my property with impunity and essentially do what they please, protected by law as if they were some sort of endangered species and the fact that they are cute. Maybe Tiberi felt the same way…
Bet if emptied my bowels in the neighbours garden, they would call the police
left the forum March 20230 -
they also disturb nesting birds and predate on endangered wildlife… so they are really damaging for the environment and should be eradicated

Just seen a dead cat on the pavement, head crushed, probably by a passing car. Hopefully someone will come to claim the body, before it starts smelling.

I reckon Tiberi has a pretty solid alibi on this occasion.

Not really as he wasn't home. Absent pet owner. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
