Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

Yeah. I’m quite good at staying on top of it.
It’s really quite something to have it happen on the first night, not even 24hrs into having bought it.
I suspect it’s bad luck - it wasn’t just mine but 3 in a row.

Perhaps you could do some therapy by inventing the most Telegraphy headline you can blaming it on wokery, Starmer, and immigration.
But, as you say, it's shitluck, Sherlock.

Was just thinking this. In my neck of the woods, we have murders, muggings, drug deals, burglaries, car theft and phone snatching, but not that much vandalism to my knowledge. Come to the promised land!

Yeah, that stuff does bring out my inner Daily Mail reader. I've a real intolerance for people who don't take care of things. Have been sat in the car at the services when someone pulled into the next space, got out and smacked their door into ours and waddled off without so much as a sheepish glance.

Had exactly the same, family of fatties who parked right next to me in a half empty Taunton Deane services. Kids got out of the back and banged their door against mine then the mother got out of the front and did the same. She then saw I was sat in the car and rather than apologise just walked off. Similar happened when one of my kids was getting out of the car once, the wind caught the door - I apologised to the owner and offered my details (they were happy it was just a minor scratch that could polish out).
I can certainly empathise with Rick, I had a brand new Mini delivered and drove it home. At some point the next day I noticed a dent right on a swage line. In that case it was a company car and very minor but it just stood out and ruined the looks of the car. Probably wasn’t done deliberately but was just annoying that I wasn’t able to enjoy the first few days of a new car at least.

Same here, minus the murders, muggings, drug deals, burglaries, car theft and phone snatching 🙂 Mind you, I probably shouldn't be advertising it too much in case they start building more houses nearby...

NIMBY! 😉
I obscure my location as housing costs are lower than they should be and I'd like to keep them that way for the local young. If you've found an ideal location for *anything* a sure-fire way of ruining it is to share the location. 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I haven't shared my exact location for good reasons, but in any event the house prices round here will keep the riff-raff and leftie whiners away 😇

High house prices are ideal for builders though! 🤣

House prices in Topsham definitely keep the less wealthy away (average house price £600k), and now it has two Labour councillors. Weird, eh?

Not if the riff raff can't afford them. They'd be better off building some affordable stuff near you 😉

Do turkeys vote for Christmas in the West Country?

I'm sure you understand the principle of profit margins. 🤣
Plenty of houses being built near me. 3 bedroom detached, garden, drive - £250,000. Less profit than £600,000.

Maybe well-educated turkeys realise when they've been had and vote for people who advocate eating gammon(s) for Christmas.

Add an extra 100k on to BT's figure and see what you could get...
Different worlds innit.

Always worth a go with the T-cut or just leave it.
When parking new cars on buy roads I used to breath a sigh of relief when the first ding happened as I stopped worrying about it.

I don't really give a monkey's about cars (I know that won't be news), but I do care a bit about my trumpets... I bought a brand new one in the late 1990's and on its first outing a well-lubricated tuning slide came flying off and dinged on the hard floor. As annoyed as I was, it makes no difference to the sound, and subsequent little scratches, dings and wear don't trouble me. Now it's just part of its history with me.

My dad had a friend who, when he got a new car used to give it to his wife for a couple of weeks to "knock all the sharp corners off"
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Not intentionally, but my wife, alloy wheels and kerbs. 🤬

I do - but you need a buyer to make the profit...

Someone chucked some litter on the little green at the entrance to the close last week.

You think there would be a shortage of buyers for new houses in your area? Hmmmm.

Buyers who can afford them, as explained above. If Rick is in the top 1% of earners and he is struggling to afford anything over half a million, that kinda cuts down the field a bit.

I'm sure Rick could afford an affordable new build in your area. He wouldn't choose to do so, but he could.

Brian's post would suggest otherwise.
