If his limit is half a million then I doubt it.
Every cloud etc 🙂

Perhaps you're right: Kent does seem to keep the riff raff out
of everywhere else.

Just googled. Looks like plenty of options.

Near me?

Fairly near. Obviously prices vary street by street. And not everyone wants a spare garage to work in. Even footballer villages like Cobham have property available at that price.

This statistic shows the party voted for by British adults in Great Britain during general elections in June of 2017, broken down by education level. Of the respondents with a low education level, 55 percent reported they had voted for the Conservative Party, with a further 3 percent having voted for UKIP, the most out of all groups of respondents. The greatest share of respondents, who had a high level of education, reported having voted for the Labour Party at 49 percent, while a further 11 percent of respondents had voted for the Liberal Democrats. By comparison, 39 percent of respondents with a medium education level had voted for the Labour Party.

Thought we were talking specifically about Cornwall, the only country apart from Norfolk where you can order a round of 6 beers with one hand?

Deflection, but nice try.
Anyway, you might like to work out which side of the Tamar Topsham is.

A quick look in my immediate area is not throwing up anything suitable for the RC scenario (assuming decent quality 3 bed house for a family of 4). The ones I can see around that price point are further away in 'less salubrious' spots, as Rick would say.

Plenty of places around Cambridge also do. For example, Rick could move to Royston and have a whole new train line to complain about. I imagine though that he quite likes Cambridge and the services it provides, so he would probably prefer a bit of sympathy about the as opposed to property suggestions.

That's more like it, I want to keep it exclusive down here 😀

Pfft, can't afford much in Royston either tbf. And then you're in Royston, which is a bit of a dump. Got a colleague who grew up there who will testify to that effect.

That was my point. You like Cambridge. £500k gets a detached house in Royston.
Everywhere is a compromise of some sort. I walked to work this morning partly because I find riding in central London so tedious. Also, I could afford a much large property in many other places, but in the end, I like where I live.

I mean, Kent is just another misspelled place name like Hull isn't it?

I mean, the only houses you can get for the price you're talking, I'd be even more worried about my car!
Plus, those houses are so far from the station you need to factor that into the commute, etc.

Proving the education point? 🤣

Fancy associating Kent with Gotham city. Mind Rick could get a 3 bedroomed house there for 20 grand.

What's wrong with something like this? 0.4 miles from the station and an unstolen range rover parked nearby. Does need a bit of work, but it's under budget!

I don't really see the appeal of trading a house in a formerly poor part of town that has recently become a home for young professional families in a nice town near the station, for a bigger house in a slightly poorer part of town that has recently become a home for young professionals in a not nice town near the station.

FWIW, I am looking at moving - a 2 bed with a family of 4 is not sustainable long term, but it makes sense to go a bit bigger so I can do things like have my own office, garage etc.

Fair enough. I was just making the point that it is all a trade off. In this case, more space for a less desirable location.

I was defending you against accusations that you should just move to Kent. I don't mind give you a bit of abuse, but that seemed a bit much.

Aw you can see the clean part of the drive where they parked the caravan and everything.

To change the subject but be on-topic..
Getting my head around MS Bookings, Private and Shared; and integrating with Shared Outlook Calendars AND trying to fit bespoke, non repeating days/times and then NOT breaking it all when you want to shift an available time slot...
AAAAARGGHH!!!
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

It's actually quite nice, but it's Royston.
Tbh RC if you are earning north of £150k you might need to suffer a higher mortgage than you want. You can probably get a 30y one and bank on paying off chunks, if you are heading for a stratospheric salary. That's going to be cheaper than moving twice.

He's also clearly not ever visited rural Wales.

I'd rather suffer a smaller house than a mortgage I'm not comfortable with. Shit happens and then what - you have your house repossessed? No thank you.
I'll ride it out here until I can afford something that's appropriate for the long term.

I have a few times. They only have 5 fingers on each hand but seem very well fed.

Could have sworn FA said recently that he moved to Cornwall, but anyway.
