Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

Fairy nuff. I have more channels than I ever watch and the web's not failed me yet. YMMV obs 😉
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

While hanging around at the MiL’s house waiting for estate agents and plumbers. I watched escape to the country and now wonder how long going outside to barbecue has been classed as being a passion for outdoor living.

2020 and lockdowns? 😉
I treated us to a big fancy BBQ since restaurants were out of the question. Has come in handy I must say.

So ended up with two quotes for a new dish install up on the wall in the original place. One was £150 all in. One was £290 +VAT! Both for the same thing.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Hopefully they were just topped up and they didn't reset the sensor afterwards.

Just a quick suggestion from my own experience.
I had this happen on a golf I had a while ago . . . I would top up the pressure and after a couple of hundred miles, it would need doing again. Took it into tyre fitting place on the assumption I had a slow puncture.
Turns out it was a cracked alloy wheel that cost about £700 to replace.
Hopefully that's not the case here but perhaps worth a check whilst your purchase is recent and you may have recourse should this be the problem.

I honestly don't think so.
I suppose the best course of action will be to get all the tyres inflated to the correct pressure, then re-set the sensor. if the same tyre triggers the sensor the I guess you either have a slow puncture or a cracked wheel. At this point you should take it to tyre replacement place to know for sure.
Either way, it won't cost you much to call the dealership that has just sold you the car to highlight that the tyre pressure sensor was activated on your way home. Assuming you didn't get a puncture on the way home, or hit a pothole or something, it would appear that the problem was there when you picked the car up.
As someone mentioned above, it may be that they checked they tyre pressures and inflated them before you picked the car up and simply didn't re-set the sensor but a fault of any kind on a newly purchased car needs to be brought to the attention of the dealer ASAP

Can also be something as trivial as the valve stem.
Do golfs use run flat tyres?

Quick spin to repark it nearer the house and it's fine, so let's see. Hopefully it's just a trivial thing!

Could stick a track pump on each wheel for a moment to check the pressures. If one is genuinely leaking fast enough to light up on the way home it should be pretty apparent.

Everyone is being surprisingly helpful... buying a new car is the opposite of the other thread title.

Seriously? That is more than trivially annoying.

I’m quite upset tbh. I’d post photos but I don’t want to scupper the police report.
Unfortunately no ring door bells around. Mine is the worst damaged but the next two have bad damage too - one has an “A” scratched into it.
Also it’s the fancy black so it really shows up.

Oh, FFS!!! That's really shit! Sorry to hear that RC. Less than 24hrs. I'd be super gutted. I bet you are too.

Yeah. TBH I spent a long time wondering if I should even go for a nice car or if I should avoid the stress and get an ugly banger. Really ummed and arred about it for I reckon a year.
Finally decided look, I've done well for myself, I have a family of 4, they deserve to be in something nice.
More upset than gutted. I have the police report, that's what insurance is for.

My daughter had one of her tyres slashed a few months ago. There are loads of complete ***** out there who don't like other people having nice things.

No wonder insurance premiums go up. Nothing is a cheap and simple repair these days.

Must have been done by a passing cyclist. They are a law unto themselves, cyclists.

Was that quoted through the dealership?
Have you tried something like these guys? https://www.chipsaway.co.uk/free-estimate
May be cheaper . . .

Get a magic scratch removing sponge as advertised on YouTube, that they don't want you to know about.

Woman at work had a scuff on her door from a work colleague parking badly and scraping her driver's door with his bumper. Caught him on CCTV. As it was a 3 year car lease deal she had to go through the company approved insurer. It wasn't a bad scuff by any means. Cost was apparently £3,000!!!! Scandalous! And we are all paying for this daylight robbery.
