Sigourney Weaver. one of the few actresses that could nail a kick ass leading role. I even really enjoyed Alien resurrection which doesn’t seem to be highly regarded.

I agree with you on your first point...

It's a bit like the Terminator franchise - first two were great but after that it went off the boil.

I'm banned from watching Aliens in company. Apparently not everyone appreciates me being able to recite the dialogue, word for word, a couple of seconds ahead of the scene. Weirdos.

Alien is probably the better film. Aliens though is still my favourite. Thankfully they stopped there and never did make any further films in the franchise........

Saltburn.... What a bucket load of over-hyped tripe! We were expecting great things. There was not one likeable character in the whole thing apart from maybe Felix. I kinda liked the mad Maths genius but that was a character that had little point being there at all.

My son who actually studies at Oxford, too thought it a load of horseshite and so far removed from anything it was laughable. I think the in-joke there is now "Don't trust people from Brasenose"

    Very disappointing.

Must admit I find it hard to hang onto any drama where I don't care if the characters live or die. I'm not like my mum who felt cheated if it wasn't a happy ending, but I still have to care about something/someone enough to carry on using up my time watching it.

Father Stu. I am in no way religious but I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would, mostly because it doesn't go how you expect. As an aside either makeup and special effects have jumped into another league or it is weird seeing Marky Mark in far worse shape than me! 🤣

special effects. That freak goes to bed at 8pm and gets up at 2am every morning to work out in his private gym.

Very possibly special effects. Very, very good effects. The Irishman was shonky, garbage in comparison.

Just means that we cannot trust anything we see on screen. I thought that day was coming, but it's here.

Gotta say that the shots used in that piece don't come close to the full movie transformation.

My thoughts will be clear to those who watch it, should they choose to do so.

In need of wasting some time, I took Amazon's recommendation of watching "Freelance".

What a total pile of excrement!

Thanks for confirming my doubts. Is Amazon trying to kill off Prime? It's going the right way about it.

I’ve learnt to avoid Amazon recommendations, usually way off the mark. Amazon interface generally shite.

6 hours of: Reacher fights, bang bang bang, Reacher wins, next contestant please (or occasionally a shag) and I'm inclined to agree with you.

The Kitchen on Netflix. Much slower than I expected and utterly predictable.

Though it might be some kind of gritty urban action, gave up after 10mins of chat. Not a blood splatter in sight.

"Come to Daddy" on Netflix starring Elijah Wood.

Described as a "genre bending horror comedy", is soooooooooooo very far from the truth. It's so slow you come to watch it when taking a break if watching paint dry becomes too fast-paced and exciting. Nothing happens. Ever. Even when you skip along 10-20 minutes at a time.

Do yourself a favour, and give it a miss.

The Outfit on Netflix. Mark Rylance does his slow acting schtick, which is a good thing. Could well be based on a play as it would work as one. A slow burner but well worth a watch imo.

Finally watched Ventoux. Liked it a lot more than I expected to despite the shonky plot line the dreadful action shots and incroyable character development. Centre pull brakes and no helmet though: what did they expect?
