My little brain is having difficulty trying to relate new images to their owners.
Going to take a while to work out who everyone is!

Yeah I'm realising how much I associate the pictures to people rather than the names

I think Bean wins the updated avatar prize... it's quite a sexy little hip swivel he's got on there.

Just like real life.

Same here, I couldn't find the picture I used last time so stuck fat Homer in temporarily. Now I wonder if I should leave it to avoid further confusion 😂

Likewise, and thought it might be time for a change after 14 years...

Now I try I can't remember what either of your avatars were 🤔
Fat homer and that sort of fish eye lens volvo are nice though

I'm sure there have been doctoral theses on why we do readily respond instinctively to avatars and icons, and how changing them messes with our brains a bit.

Excellent way to spend three years of your life. Followed by a lifetime comparing the top half of fonts.

Quotations seem to be working now.

My hunch would be that it would need expertise in brain function including instinctive perception. The responses don't seem to be conscious. It's always rather fun when academics deconstruct something pervasive that most people take for granted, or perceive to be trivial, such as emojis.

No but you can still flag them unless you buy something other than Levi’s then it might be up your street.

5 and gone :)

At the very least, I think the forum needs to allow partial quoting and links to photos.
The one thing I liked about the last version was you could pick subsections to follow.

It would be helpful if they'd allow us to edit the HTML as we could with the last reboot. Even CC (which seems to be a slicker platform generally) allows that.

You'll have to forgive me for my ignorance, but who was it in your previous avatar? There might be sniggering from everyone at my not knowing, but as people might have guessed, I don't really watch films or TV, or follow popular beat combos either...

Who is now actually dead.
Stevo looks more like David Bellamy in real life.

Ah this has reminded me. Was it the t1000 from terminator 2?
Edit... Rick already got it

Yup, my celebrity lookalike.

? Robert Patrick is still alive.

Thanks all. At least now I understand that little part of my widespread ignorance.

He’s in the new series of Reacher (playing the baddie!). There was some in joke about the aliases used when Reacher and Neagley checked into a hotel. I always thought your avatar was Bowie though

He was in the X-Files as well for a while.
Not sure there's that much similarity between Patrick and Bowie, but I suppose our avatars are pretty small...
Although coincidentally Bowie used to live in a flat on the same road as I lived on in Beckenham - though not at the same time, obviously.

Mmm. Scours memory for someone else who has died who looks vaguely similar.
Ray Liotta.
