Rather you than me. I had a set of Delta brakes (admittedly stunning) and they were pernickety to set up and didn't break well at all. The clearance was so tight, I once crashed in a heap in the middle of Uppsala whilst trying to do a U turn because turning the handlebars pulled on the rear brake calliper - couldn't figure it out at first and felt a complete mug lying on the deck in a foreign country, being picked up off the deck by concerned folks waiting for the bus. If the centre pulls are worse than Delta's, put them in a box with suicide brakes.
Right, i'm off to find pics of Master Olympics...seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
The worst part about them is the brake blocks to be fair, they're all pretty much solid now (Not sure what they were like back int he day as I wasn't born!)
They do almost actually stop if you stick some modern pads in, not period correct but better that dying!0 -

Brilliant memories of my old dura ace Bob Jackson with a pair of those and time trials on the F1.0 -
On the 'Light Blue Cycles' stand at Eurobike. Ridden by the owner in the early part of the 20th century, I assume behind a derny.

My Battaglin:
...and a set of Chorus cranks that I polished myself 'cos there was a company who offered to do them for £70 at the time so I decided to do it myself...5 and a half hours later and a lot of sore fingers:

Nice, very nice. Nothing like a little chrome.0 -
I think this was/is on ebay for $75k (can't find the link though)

So strange to see a TT bike setup in that era compared to now. I take it that's big Mig's due to the height of the stem. the guy was about as aero as a house brick but had a massive engine.0

Delta brakes though, very nice. This was the era when the Campagnolo groupsets looked the best in my opinion.0

Worst and the best. Bolle looked awful, whereas the Sub Zeros were ace! Still have a pair! 8)0 -
Which ones, the bollés or the Oakleys?
(I owned both models in years gone by....)0 -
The prescription ones all looked horrible unfortunately. Contact lenses are a must! The sub Zero's looked much better with Iridium lenses0
-
I had both too... only with gold mirror in the Bolle Edge and blue iridium in the sub zero.0
