Most of the main GC riders seemed to match up well with Martin from the intermediate split onwards - suspect wind bit different for later riders.

Zoidl decent again, given he's coming back from an injury.

with martin only been a second behind froome at the top of the climb i suspect he went too hard on it and couldn't sustain his effort on the way down. he didn't look impressed crossing the line

I feel sorry for Tony Martin. Getting beatrn by the preying mantis in your specialist discipline is never fun. Im sure he is pissed as well just like he was at the Tour.

    Great ride by Uran.

I think that under the circumstances (not at all a typical TT course) he did a good ride. Not a lot of TT specialists in the mix.

    Great ride by Uran.

Also, Tony Martin has crashed at least 3 times that I have seen, during the race.
He was only the 34th fastest up the climb. Spilak and Froome, as on the Queen stage, equal fastest.

Agreed, great ride by Uran. Much better than expected, since his climbing form is poor
    at the moment.
Hope he can get it all together at the Giro.

Movistar run away with team classification prize. Sky clawed their way up to 9th, but still a disappointing performance.

Team Sky riders occupy the bottom 2 slots on GC.

I expect Brailsford will have harsh words for them now he's fully focused on the road set up

These Australians don't give their all for the shirt.

nobody cares (except you) where the support riders come. where the team leader comes is what matters.

I expect that TWH's post was somewhat sarcastic in view of other people's posts this week.

Ok InSeine - question. What do you mean by TT specialist? I'm only asking because I thought these days that sort of concept was redundandant. Or is it that some are better than others at the TT?

According to Martin he misjudged a corner going downhill and he reckons that's where he lost it.

I meant recognized testers, like Monfort or Bobridge, but I think you're right that most can turn it on these days if necessary. Witness all the work Moviestar have done in the wind tunnel this last year or so.

I genuinely think Alex Dowsett has had a big impact at Movistar with regards TT setup/training.

This is true. All the wind tunnel work is done in the UK, at Simon Smarts place. Same place the Canyons and the areo clothing was developed.
