Here we go! Chris Froome shuts down Nibali and then looks to push onwards. 25km to go #TDR2014 #VaVaFroome

He's been in good form. Had a nice tour of the basque country.

Come on Spilak. My pick for today.

    Nibali: All style, no substance.
    Lightweight.

Uran: Not good. Behind the chasing group.

Uran wasnt long back at all from Colombia (and presumably being up at altitude) ahead of the start of this week. Seems to take the guys a little while to adjust.

Could come back together yet. Can't see Froome thinking it's worth risking too much on the descent.

Can't see the front 2 getting caught unless they descend really really scared. The conditions are crap and I doubt there will be too many risks taken by anybody in the chase group either.

Anyone know where Martin, Kwia and Talansky are please?

Kwia dropped ages ago, no idea about Martin, Talansky was with one of the lead groups but had a mechanical on the climb and not heard any updates since. I'd assume he's still relatively close to the front, but perhaps a couple of minutes down on Froome and Spilak.

Talansky is in group 3 a little over a minute down. The other two - minutes back.

oh didn't realise Talansky was still in group 3, that's good for him!

Gap isn't budging at all for the leaders.

Was it Spilak that Froome worked with during a race last year - Spilak got the stage, Froome the GC? It might even have been Romandie?
