I understood you fine in the first place [:)] It was a real generalisation to make in the first place but I knew what you meant.

This is really getting out of hand now.
My points were
1) Its annoying to get held up by ladies, men, horses, walkers who don't walk in single file on paths (fairly logical statement)
2) Women are equal to men but men shouldnt assume they are always equal in terms od doing activities where more strength, endurance is required (again logical statement - men and woman are built differently)
3) Men have a better sense of balance which helps them to ride faster and with more confidence (fairly easy to understand comment)
4) Everyone is different some woman are better than men and vice versa - I would imagine Johnny Vegas to be a crap rider and the same for Dawn french so on that account some woman are better than men at riding and vice versa
Hope everyone understands my points now[:D]

1) so anyone really? then why your original generalisation directed towards *only* women?
2) true, but only on a higher level. it should make no difference to the average rider. i find technical ability is more important in some ways, which isn't really gender related.
3) is this just another generalisation dreamed up in your bigoted little head, or do you have any evidence at all to support this?
4) er, yes. congratulations for contradicting points 1-3. unless your real point is that women can only hope to keep up with obese p1ss-heads?

lol. he's not even a very good troll.
bra burning? lol. at least make an effort to think up something a little more imaginative for your ignorant character.
you'd better tell this little lady about the balance thing. she doesn't appear to know. http://www.schofieldsweeney.co.uk/images/gymnast.jpg bikeybikey0 -

Dont remember that Cazz, maybe we were deep in conversation and I didn't notice!![;)]
I get held up all the time at GT. I don't mind at all as when I first started it was always me holding other people up and the fact thats now changed just makes me happy I've improved. This has a lot to do with knowing the trails so well too though so it's not as acurate a measure of speed and skill as you'd think.

I know what you mean Saz, I almost feel guilty on the climbs now cos I'm not at the back anymore!! Puts a smile on my face that I've improved though, just gotta work on getting some confidence on the downhills.

polymer. when did anyone (apart from you) say that women were better than men (or vice versa)? are you ok? now you appear to be arguing with yourself lol.

You need to ride Kirroughtree. I did it two weeks ago and it gave me a huge boost. Unfortunately had a not so great ride last night at Innerleithen and feel that the "Kirroughtree effect" has worn off a bit. Plora Craig defeated me last night and I walked most of it after nearly going over the bars. [:(]

Yeah, but starting a men Vs women thread in the "Girls World" section you had to expect a certain amount of abuse to be fair...

It was'nt intended to be a men vs woman debate Cazzdevil hmmm at least you can see what I meant without getting very irrational about it..... some woman are better than men and some men are better than woman I guess....0

"some woman are better than men and some men are better than woman I guess...."
a perfect answer to the original post. Strange how you made yourself look like a complete dufus, then answer your own question!0 -
Mudface your charm is without equal - you could charm the birds from the tree's. Your wit is beyond compare in this land of England, you must indeed be a sparkling jewel, dazzling all, far and wide, no mere male compares to yourself after all are'nt all males inferiorer tto yourself, the queen of riding beyond compare, watch mudface swiftly overtake those slow males on the trails, all of which are in awe of her speed and strength, she is indeed AMAZING....
PS mudface your alarm clock is ringing, its time to WAKE UP!!![:D]0 -
Yer I agree, men rule.

lol.
you are an odd one, polymer - you are obsessed with men V women. you DO realise that you are the ONLY person on the entire thread to state at any point that one sex is better than the other?
do you have little day dreams about a big competition between men and women where all the women do really badly at sports and start crying and then beg for your forgiveness and all club together to crochet you a manly coat of omnipotence?
sounds like that place i'm riding you're talking about must be your neck of the woods... btw i'm an 8 stone weakling... you MUST be WAY better than me <sigh>

don't they know that they should be out there earning our crust while we're out doing our nice little hobby.
i find it annoying when you get the DH lads on 8" of travel in the alps blocking up the trails on the gnarly sections. still, good fun overtaking their big red faces on a 5" travel bike.
maybe they should stick to something a little less technical.
Which was your quote above mudface - so are you saying you never said females are better than males???? Anyway i'm bored of this topic now - so here it now ends!0 -
nope.
it ends here ->0 -
Actually it ends here [:p]0

oh. my. god. you read that as a completely serious comment??!? lol. it's worse than i thought. maybe i should spell it out...
i have been riding for nearly 3 years now. i ride almost exclusively with men, and i have learned so much from their support and skill and i'm now a half-decent rider because they don't put the limits on my riding you would. they expect me to ride everything they ride - drops, gaps, jumps, trails, no excuses. i am better than some riders at some things, equal to others and also much, much worse than some (like most of us i'd imagine). some of the riders i've ridden with are inspirational and one has been on a mountain biking video (can't remember his name i'm afraid). i've also had some coaching from tracey mosely, helen gaskill and nigel page. we're all riders and we should be helping each other to progress, female or male, everyone has their strengths and everyone has their weaknesses. i don't see why it should be divisive. bikeybikey0 -
