9:30am is good for me, beats the traffic. I'll keep an eye on here for any last additions but I have your moby number for tomorrow if needed.
Nice piccys in your signature links, especially the Skyline and Penhydd in the sun. I take it they were not taken when we were snowed on there last November? It was lovely the other weekend, too.
You even make the A40 look picturesque!

Where are you planning on in the Chilterns?
I may be interested, but I may have to do a 'part route' as my riding time is a little limited

The big GT was ill on saturday so didn't ride but BigAl and anyone else, I'm thinking of doing a ride round the chilterns (Northend, turville/MBR killer loop) on Saturday (21st) morning.
I rode there on good friday on my favorite route and it was great! Bang on 25 miles.
Anyone fancy it?

I am commuting on the bike tomorrow and as many days as I can manage this week to blow out the remains of my cold and to get some level of fitness back!
I really want to ride Saturday but only a probable not a definite, yet.
I really like the idea of riding somewhere that does not need an hours drive to get to!

B*gger - sorry I can't. My wife is away studying on Saturday morning so I'm with the kids and can't come out to play. [:(]
Tis a good route and is very dry right now.
Keep me posted when you're next up (mike59 has said he also fancies the Chilterns)

Just to add to the above.
I'm going to make it a goal to ride with some forum members at least once and soon.
I'm a little apprehensive at being found out as a 'yellow chicken' but what the hell.
I have only ever ridden off-road alone and have no idea whether I'm slow/average/fast (actually I know I'm not fast [:I]). A riding buddy (or buddies) would make me push myself, I'm sure.
There's also some great watering holes around here to share. [;)]

I just enjoy long cross-country rides and twisty singletrack going at my own pace. Can't jump for toffee (not sure if I want to, really) whilst drop-offs are OK as long as they do not exceed 114.2mm in height [8D]

Along the lines of what Al was saying, would be good to meet up with a few forumers at some point in the future for a ride and to explore some new trails etc etc.
A lot easier to travel once i have a bike carrier purchased so will be a short while yet... plus gives me time to work on my lacking fitness levels [:D][:p][;)]
Limited to only having certain weekends off work isnt very helpful either but will keep an eye on this thread and join in when i can if there are no objections [:)]

For those who are interested in riding tomorrow, heres a map showing car park start point.
I haven't got round to marking the whole route out yet (trying to look like I'm doing some work is slowing me down), I'm thinking of a 9:30 start.
And thats tomorrow (Sat 21st, btw.)
TheBigGT - you're up for it aren't you?
BigAl - have you managed to unload the kids onto anyone by any chance?

Nice one Gary,
I've tried to add a bit of the route onto that link, but google maps is a bit pants.
Anyone else interested? Mike59, guilliano, anyone?

Afraid not here, up in London for the day.
Have a good one [;)]

G,
What area do you inhabit? If it's not too far out of my way, I don't mind picking you up?
If you are more Dave's way and you ask him very nicely, he may well offer the same service?

Guilliano,
I'll PM you my mobile number. If you can get a train to to High Wycombe station for about 9:10am, I'll pick you up! Call me from 8:30am, if I am driving, I have Bluetooth so I can answer! You'll have to let me know BY 9:00 or I'll be already past there. Up to then, I'll be able to divert.
I won't leave you in the middle of nowhere afterwards, either...

just to say i really enjoyed the Trail Break ride which was held for the first time at Princes Risborough(?) - some great countryside, plenty of climbing too - around 700m for the 41km route. i can see why you guys want to ride there.

I went up to Wendover today and realised that my back is still a bit damaged! Gonna rest it again this week with a view to the full 30 mile Tring to Berkhamsted loop next weekend.

Sorry Davy - missed this post - but wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. The wife was out all morning then I had a crap afternoon at Aston Hill (see thread in general section).
It's a real shame as that trail is literally on my doorstep (Stokenchurch)
guilliano - for future reference - if us lot get a ride organised I may be able to pick you up from Aylesbury.

Hi Guys!
Sorry to miss you Andy!
Dave & I had a great ride yesterday, about 26 miles all-in. Some great singletrack, excellent descents and some killer climbs! [xx(]
The weather was absolutely gorgeous too [8D] and for those of you who love the nature around you when riding (like me!), we saw deer, carpets of bluebells and red kites (including one that flew around about 20ft above our heads for about 30 seconds).[:0]
The only down side was me losing it at a bit of a lick on a rooty descent after 'landing' an angled drop-off! My right-hand handlebar caught a tree, dislocated my little finger and slid me down the trail for about 10 yards!
My right hand is now swollen and sore and my left limbs are missing quite a lot of skin...[B)]
When are we doing it again????
Bu99ered my ride today though [V][V][:(]

Well Kazoo has agreed to let me have Saturdays as a regular riding day so I'm up for any weekend for the foreseeable....
BigAl... that would be hugely appreciated if we can get something organised between us.

How about next saturday then guys? 28th April...
guilliano - pick a route out your neck of the woods if you like? I've ridden a good route out there several times, goes past Mr Blair's residence (Chequers), Coombe Hill etc.
BigAl - didn't you like Aston Hill? I might go there next sunday if I'm allowed 2 bike rides next w/end. [:p]
The Big GT - I forgot to tell you I've got a curse where everyone I ride with falls off... before you it was scott macavennie, before him Majorbloodnock. I'm gonna stock up on antiseptic wipes before next weekend!!
<hr noshade size="1"><center><font face="Trebuchet MS">Handsome Ransom | Chillin' in the Chilterns</font id="Trebuchet MS"></center>0 -
Seems very selfish to pick a route just cos it's easy for me. I'd love to get involved in a ride with a few of you though, so maybe first weekend of May we can get something arranged central to us all and I'll get the train to the nearest station???
As for someone you ride with always falling off... I am bound to crash on a high speed descent as I have the riding skills and fitness of a sloth on smack!
