See, unknown has it down I think.
Tasteful, subtle mods. But tbh, if I was in the position of it being a first car that I don't intend to own for very long, I still wouldn't bother. But unknown, you're right, yours do look good. I don't think I'd say you have a modded car though, I describe it more as cleaned. Which is a much better look IMO

It's not modded cars people are generally againt, it's fugly modded cars, that just look stupid.
Personally, I'm not against them, I love them, they give me a good giggle.

Unknown's car looks ugly to me even. I just don't see the point. however, it's a clean job, and tidy enough, I just can't see it as any sort of improvement. Wheels are so big they're ridicilous. And again, that chickenwire grill is truly abysmally fugly.

There was a white corsa round here a few years ago, which had some really pretty bodywork on it. Vey nice and subtle, just a few minor little things sprinkled over it, apparently to replace scuffed original parts and so on.
It actually looked as though it SHOULD have rolled off the production line looking like it did.

What is it that every one has against moded cars, yea i agrees stubid body kits and all that are naff, but what about the subtle mods that the average joe wouldnt notice, like colour coded door handles, rear lights out of a newer model, factoy body kits (i.e. ones off the sports models) etc.

Probably nothing, I've just seen far to many crushed like a coke can.

    Ooooh, safeness.

One of my mates just got a VTS, and I'm just waiting for someone to tickle the front end and write it off.

When you next go for a drive, knock on the front wings like you would knock on a door, then knock on a coke can. You'll see.

    NOOOOOOO!

First and most common thing people do is put 6x9's in their car, I did it, my mates done it, Jesus even my missus almost did it.

They're rubbish in comparison to what you could get.

Get some uprated door speaker, I presume the Spaxo has 4?

And if you want some thump, a sub in boot.

Make sure you amp the speakers too for maximum w00tage.

I'd be getting 5 inchers for the door cards, aswell as 6x9's for the back compared to the puny little 3inchers.

Can't be bothered with a sub due to space, as i will like to transport a couple of bikes in the back. Tempted to get an amp aswell.

With 6x9's due to them being as far back in the car as possible, they tend to shift the sound that way as well.

Look at it this way, all good audio setups in cars don't use 6x9's.

Just do the door speakers, get some 5's in there, and in the back, if they don't fit in the back, make them. Amp them up and you're rocking.

Couldn't i just adjust it using the headunit surely. I can alter the sound balance on my standard kit. Eg, i can fade it to the back speakers, or to the front speakers.

Surely i could just do that and get it balanced correctly?

    Don't work like that unfortunatly.

Trust me, the money you'll spend on decent front speakers and 6x9's you could get front and rear amped.

Also, cutting holes in parcel shelfs is horrible. And if you do decide to get a 'woofer you'll feck up the speakers in the shelf.

Means having to take the rear of my car completly apart. [V]

Tbh money isnt an issue. So i could get the shelf and fronts amped. And disconect the standard rear speakers.

Like i said before, i won't be getting a woofer due to space.

    Argh!

Obviously you're set on shelf mounted 6x9's so I'll give up trying to convince you otherwise but one last thing, they'll be visible and pikies may want to steal them, whereas a stealth install will hide everything.

I'm not set on anything atm. The general list of things so far was:

    Alpine HU
    Infinity kappa's 5inch
Infinity Kappa's 6x9s, (only due to people reconmending me)

Haven't had anything mentioned to me before about amps.
