First off. Don't get mesh for a car from a builders merchant. Guaranteed it hasn't been galvanized/rustproofed, and will look even worse after a sport of rain and a week or so.

actually it is the exact same mesh halfords sell in the ripspeed section. It is also galvonsied, which means it won't rust but it may go a bit dull after a while.
It is going to be improved slightly when the weather gets better, I'm going to try and get it flwoing with the front by trying to splay it outwards a bit.

In regards to the comment about why not get a sportier car, when you 17 and can't afford insurance for a real sports car, and I don't mean an MX-5, I mean a proper sports car like a TVR 3000M or similar.
When I'm 21, hopefully I'll be able to get something like that, like my dad did. He's had a performance car since he was 20, he sold the Chimeara last year, I just wanted to make my car a little sportier/aggressive. I was bored and had no money, so I just had a bit of a mess.

Oh yeah, 'cause an MX-5 is such a bad car compared to a fiesta?!?!?

No, I was just saying that its not a sports car in my eyes. I know its not a bad car compared to my fiesta.
I just don't think of it as a sports car.

    That says it all.

    'Ripspeed section'

    *snigger*

And an MX5 IS a sports car, its not overly fast, but handling-wise its one of the best out there in its class.

Yes, it may be a sports car, if you actually read my post you would see that I said, its not a sports car in my eyes, because my dad has owned a TVR since he was 21 I think of that as a sports car.

The MX-5 is a sports car if you are a girl, a hairdresser or a queer. Or all 3.

    MX5's are wannabe sportscars.

They dont have enough power or the right looks for a sportscar imo

A golf GTi doesn't have buckets of power, or supercar looks, but it's still a sports car, no?

An audi RS4 Avant doesn't look much like a TVR either, but that will blitz anything round a track.

A sports car isn't always for the looks, or the outright power, it's about the drive. That's why they don't make 500bhp Lotus Elises

Yes, but the lotus elise doesn't need the masses of power because its lighter than a feather, so has a massive power to weight ratio, which makes it seem as if it has lots of power.

MX5s arent slow, not very fast either, but theyre sports cars because of the way they drive, ie very well. The latest MX5s are also pretty lightweight.
I dont care, but back to the point, your Fezza looks shi<s></s>t with that horrid, chavvy looking 'grill'. Get some bloody taste.

90% of modded cars turn out worse, you obviously haven't seen many modded cars then. Chave cars, yes, but you can hardly say a little bit of mesh is chav.
Have you seen performance Ford, or any other car marque that has been modded by someone that knows what they are doing.

Anyway, I can't be bothered with this topic anymore, can an admin please lock it.

You shouldn't need the topic to be locked just because people are giving you a bit of criticism FFS!

Especially as the topic title _is_ "Rate my car mod" - notice the use of RATE. Not always going to be a positive rating is it!

  • Box! I want so see the modifications now, does anyone have it in there temporary internet files? If so, does this person want to upload it?

I can't believe you took it down, that's asking for it, big time.

Box. Gotta be mate. It's great! Ask opinions for something... Then when it's a resounding 'CR<i></i>AP!' asks for it to be locked thanks to no positive responses [:D]

    Lovely!

    I didn't even see the mod though [:(] I missed a giggle.

Didn't take too long and I think it looks quite good. No I'm not a chav, I just like my car to be a bit different. There will be no bodykitting untill it has had some power modifications like intake kit and a sports box(only 3" pipe).

you can see the bodged edges at the top of the left headlight. You should have at least folded the edges over to hide the rough bits. I can see what you were aiming for... but it hasnt worked. Put the old bits back on.

All depends on the context though really, doesn't it? In general car terms, its a sports car. In Super car terms, its a tin can on wheels.

I define a sports car as a 2 (2+2) seater at a stretch, thats designed to be a quick and entertaining.

A golf GTI is basically a small family car with a turbo wacked in it.
