When I'm 21, hopefully I'll be able to get something like that, like my dad did. He's had a performance car since he was 20, he sold the Chimeara last year, I just wanted to make my car a little sportier/aggressive. I was bored and had no money, so I just had a bit of a mess.

A TVR at 21? You're looking at œ5000 plus, even just for 3rd party.
Put your Fiesta back together before the insurance company discovers you have 'modified' it and cancels your policy.

Oh god, I'm all nervous now........
I have to put a mesh in the bootlid of my car when the new engine goes in, otherwise the oil cooler will cause the paint to bubble and the nice new high efficiency rad won't be able to suck in enough air! Fingers crossed I can do a better job than that!!
I can't help but see the point in "modding" small, low power, hatchback , starter cars. They will always look like small, low power, hatchback, starter cars, just with a bit of plastic on. No one is going to look at a fiesta with a special grill and go "oooooooooooooh look at that fiesta! I bet it packs a punch, and I bet that strange looking guy behind the wheel is reeeeeeeeally cool"
**NB: Please ignore the fact that I am currently in the process of tinkering with a small, low power car [:D]**

I find that horrendously suspicious, especially since the 4.5 is basically i licence to print money for insurance companies. A friend of mine aged 25, with 4 years no claims was insuring is evo4 for œ1200. The TVR with no driver aids or safety devices and more power would definately cost more than that.
<center><b>Mythic Meg</b></center>0 -
I thought TVR's had a reputation for extremely bad reliability. The only one your going to be able to afford at 21 is an old one, which will surely spend most of its day's in a garage? So, your going to end up spending a fortune on the car, insurance, petrol and getting it fixed. You have to ask yourself, is it really worth it?
Why don't you just get a Clio V6 or something, as its probably a damn site more reliable/practical and will turn as many heads.

Insurance doesn't drop massively over 21, a little, but not a huge amount, and same for 25, small drop, but not huge. It's no claims years that really bring it down

Well it all depends on your circumstances, If you used a fleet policy or used a parents insurance with you on it you can get away with not paying much at all. I've been insured for some fairly handy cars since about 23 for peanuts.

Thats fine since its obviously performance related, sadly bits of chicken wire on the front of your 99 fiesta zetec 1.2 are unlikely to.

But then again you cant aford performance mods at 17, well not insurance wise.
best bet is buy a older warm/hot hatch, as it is more likely to be cheeper thatn a sh<u></u>itty corsa barried to the hills.
I.E. a 96 (M) 2.0 306 for œ750 TPFT
A standered 96 (P) 1.4 306 if œ500 TPFT before induction kits and exhausts which add about œ600 on to the price of the 2.0 so im geussing about the same for a 1.4

Its not finished yet anyway. Whoever has uploaded the pics please remove them now, they still have number plate in. Also please delete any saved pics. You can save the ones without the number plate. I will reupload the pics, as poeple want to see, [:D].
Its going to change soon anyway, I've found some grilles going cheap on ebay so I can fit the grill into that and not risk messing up the original.

im thinking of changing my grill on my car.
Then again, it would only be to a normal renault clio one. mine is slightly cracked. [:(]
Ebay for œ30 tho, FTW.
And for modding your car? dont bother, what you've done looks shocking, and also it probably has added more drag to the car, making it slower HAHAHA.

The standard grille probably made the air flow in a certain direction. Now the air is just going straight into the block.
Maybe.

What is it that every one has against moded cars, yea i agrees stubid body kits and all that are naff, but what about the subtle mods that the average joe wouldnt notice, like colour coded door handles, rear lights out of a newer model, factoy body kits (i.e. ones off the sports models) etc.
<center><font color="black"><font size="1">Dealing with the undead is not a do-it-yourself project,</font id="size1"></font id="black"> <font color="black"><font size="1">leave it to the experts.</font id="size1"></font id="black"></center><center><font>DMR></font> : <font>Cape Wrath</font></center>0 -
If no-one notices, what's the point, and things like changing the lights just come accross as a cheap way to try to make your car 'different'.
People have nothing against improving cars from stock, just against changing them for the sake of it, often making them less practical (bodykits), and uglier.
People like ford have design teams working for hours on parts for cars, bolting on bits from Halfords rarely compliments their work.
A well modded car can be an artform, but people tend to just go vulgar or tacky instead

Well there isn't really a point but its my car and i know it looks better with the little things like that done.
Yes they were changed for the sake of it, but its all OEM stuff. and doesnt look out of place, unlike lexus lights and ridiculously low body kits that look tike they were airfixed on.
