Insurance at heart actually is a kind of socialism, in that everyone contributes to a funding pool to help out those in need. The problems come when the gatekeepers to those funds look on the model as one for profiteering. It's one reason I've insured with NFU Mutual for the past 40 years, as that seems a less likely model to be exploited at the expense of policy holders.

David Allen Green suggesting that the likes of Zuck, Musk & Bezos sucking up to Trump actually illustrates their weakness in many ways: the power of governments to regulate big tech (USB-C in EU, Twitter in Brazil) shows how reliant they are on governments allowing them to do what they want to do.
In that respect, it does seem rather bold of both Musk and Zuckerberg to be riling the EU at this juncture.
