Looked fairly low-speed and innocuous but you have to wonder if he's carrying something from last weekend.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

This gap in the U23 race has been bridgeable for ages now but the Italian is glued to the Slovakian’s wheel then reusing to take his turn allowing it to go back out briefly all the time. Must be so tempting to put him in the barriers.

He’s now decided to chase himself. I’ll never understand what goes on in the head of pro cyclists. Laurans holds on to just about take it, Portuguese I think gets second, not sure about third.

Laurans has given it everything and deserves that win. Not looking in good shape lying on the floor after the finish, was getting a bit worried for him but he’s sat up now.

    Rootkin-Grey finished 4th.

Slovakian took 3rd and deserved a medal as he did the vast majority of the work in the chase. Italian wheel sucker got 5th.

Pidcock moving up quickly. 11 seconds back.
  • Pidcock up to 5th and right up the leader’s bums.

    Schurter in the lead.
  • Pidcock's twice had a little bit of bad luck with riders in front dropping the wheel

Pidders back on the lead group
  • Schurter had ripped everything to pieces in order to drop Pidcock in the first place, then gets annoyed with doing all the work, throws a bit of a wobbly and Pidcock's back on...
  • (to be fair to Pidcock, he was happily making his way back on anyway)

Pidders has to close another gap as the French lad loses the wheel

If anyone is interested, Sagan is 57th, 2.30 behind

  • Pidcock currently leading, unable to extend any sort of gap though. This first group of three seem to be set for the medals.
  • Pidcock really driving it now - Hatherly looking knackered, Shurter just about hanging on for the moment.
  • Pidcock slowly opening a gap.....

Pidders strings it out on Lap 6, Schurter just about hangs on but Hatherley is dropped
  • Hatherly looks utterly blank behind - the lights have gone out
  • Schurter cracks.

    Pidders drops Schurter.
  • Schurter dropped!
  • 11 seconds on the line.

  • Gaze absolutely blasting into third - Hatherly going backwards quickly now. Schurter still losing time gradually to Pidcock.
  • Having typed that, Schurter has almost halved the time to Pidcock according to the timings
