    Jebus - they broke Pog

I think Pog broke himself on stages 1 to 15

Pog will lose around 6 minutes to JV.

Wtf. At the cricket, not watching... Worth watching the highlights?
Yes, the final climb. I think there was a bit of action at the start too but I missed that.

Amazing how quickly a very tight race can turn into a complete rout.

Gall very emotional in his interview.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pogacar retires ill in the next couple of days. Lights went properly out today.

Plus he's had a nasty bang to his left knee. That can't have helped either.

I did think the same, especially as the team would still hold second place but I don't think it is in his nature. He'd been looking pale and tired for a few days, I think I mentioned it on Sunday, but then yesterday's ride in relation to all bar Vingergaard suggested he was OK.

I assume everyone will make the time cut. By my calculation the cut off is just over 46 minutes.

Edit - was looking at co-efficient 5, this was 'only' a 4 so it will be under 35 minutes.

Pog was in shape for a 2 week GT, just not a 3 week one. Interesting fight for the podium etc though.

Yep, I'm struggling here. I make the average stage speed 34.39 km/h and the site I looked at said that the allowance was 12% on a co-efficient 4 for speeds between 34 and 35km/h. Winning time was 4 49' 08" in which the allowance would be 34' 42" but that would rule out anyone outside the top 63 with Latour being the first person to miss the cut. Either my maths is bad or there is some duff information on the website I used.

Edit - dodgy information on the first site I looked at which had it as coefficient 4 (maximum of 5). It is actually a 5 (maximum of 6 for the TT) and is 16% so would have been 46' 16". Geshke was last to finish in 44' 56", I wouldn't fancy trying to judge the effort with that final climb to the line where even Gaudu lost 30" in 200m.

    7.17 Armstrong/Beloki 2002

A week ago I thought it might be the closest ever, now it could easily be the biggest margin this century despite both favourites finishing and no major incidents for them.

    Ullrich/Virenque in 1997 was 9.09.

Pogacar looked a broken man today. He's going to have to produce some ride on Saturday, or else negotiate a complete cease fire with Jumbo. Otherwise the best he can hope for is to avoid a 26 year old record.

Maybe Jumbo will allow Wout is stage on Saturday now the GC is done (although he might win tomorrow after clocking off early today).

So Roglic won't be the leader at the TdF for the next few years? One day it will be Jonas going backwards. But he can enjoy his time for now

Ineos and Jayco might smell blood.

Indeed, going after Pog might be Ineos' best chance of the podium. They will probably have to crack him on the Petit Ballon though. UAE might have a job defending Yates and Pog.
