My guess is Pog or Vingegaard will have too much advantage on the climbs, but I reckon Wout is the only one that can challenge them

Hadn't realised *quite* how short this is.

    Not impressed.

What it lacks in length, it makes up for with technical challenges. The first climb is steeper than the profile shows, followed by a technical descent, then the final climb is right on the cusp of the decision point to switch from a TT bike to a road bike or not. The severity of the last 15 mins or so of effort will also benefit those who get their pacing strategy absolutely spot on.

The technical aspect is what made me surprised anyone is considering a bike change. I can't see there being many parts of the course where a TT bike will be advantageous.
For equal power output, a TT bike would be faster to the foot of the finishing climb. The question the teams have to answer is whether the time taken to switch bikes will be worth the time lost by riding a (heavier) TT bike up the climb, especially the steeper first 2 kms.
I thought it was going to be a bit more technical and twisty meaning the advantages of a TT bike would be more limited.

Definite issue on the first corner.

Côte de Domancy is another in the new Zwift climb portal (you get 25Km free every calendar month, lead-in to portal in France is ~1.3Km iirc). A number of steep double-digit ramps connected by small sections that ease off.

    https://forums.zwift.com/t/zwift-climb-portal-2023/608777

Swapping to a light road setup looks a no-brainer, but comes with the risk of time costing blunders.

Mørkøv 3km from the finish, in the big ring - think that's why a bike swap might be dodgy

Mørkøv just breaks the 40 minute mark.
Sean Kelly has arrived at the same conclusion: that the winning time will be around 33'

Lot of Danish fans on the route. Mørkøv said they played Rock Around The Clock for him - a 6 days thing, from when pair 7 attacked. They might have wrecked his lanterne ambitions, as he said he kept thhe chain tight and had good legs.

Bjerg did a very unconvincing swap, though he's only tootling around as slow as possible anyway

DSM Lanterne rouge candidates cheating by arriving late for their starts

If they miss their slot, does the actual time start only when they cross a timing beam anyway?

Delgado missed his slot in 1989 and lost time as a result. No more modern info.

Certainly not in the past. If it changed it was done very quietly
