Swift off the group ...may get back on the descent

Still clinging on the back. Commentators (rightly) praising his effort but overlooking Puccio’s contribution. He’s been massively under appreciated for the work he’s done at Sky / Ineos over the years.

    It’s raining but it’s stopped.
Really pointless stuff from Eurosport’s roving reporter.

10-44 cassette on Roglic’s spare bike. That seems crazy.

    Rain ahead.

If you needed a bike change in the last 4 k getting going it would help . ..you think a push would be enough though ?

It feels like the rest are playing into Ineos hand here by not forcing the pace.

Puccio now hanging on the back hoping to make it to the descent. Swift seems to have properly gone now.

44? No wonder I struggle going around on a 29. Life so much easier on that size of cassette.

I bet that both Swift and Puccio will be back by Cortina.

Nah, Ineos use Mercedes for their team cars

I'll get my coat. It's been a long Giro...

Puccio times it perfectly and gets back on the front as the descent flattens a bit.

Given that they'll be doing 1500+ VAM up Tre Cime, I struggle to understand how any pro could need 40 teeth on the rear cassette.

The jumps between the gears must be horrible on a cassette with that big a range
