    Breakaway finally sorted.
Not as big as I expected.

Bertie is useless on the bike and it's not a lost in translation thing

Breakaway couldn’t have worked out better for Ineos.

    Threat of arensman brought order

Healy attacks from 5.30 behind. Guess he wants some extra mountain points up the road but feels pointless.

JV firing riders off the front meaning Ineos have to send some too. I'm not sure it is worth them spending so much energy as it rarely seems to help tactically having a man up front for a GC rider.

Three benefits that I can see. Pick which is most likely to succeed on the road.
    1. Potential stage win.
    2. Rest of the team can take it easy as others are forced to chase.
    3. Breakaway rider can ease up and recover to help on the final climb.
    1. Chasing a stage win when you're trying to take the overall would be a bit silly.
    2. Only really works if the rider who goes in the break is a threat themselves otherwise just don't bother chasing.
    3. This is the main reason they seem to do it but it rarely works, the rider usually manages a few hundred metres at most when the GC group catches them.

Healy has apparently pulled back 50 seconds, I don't see it myself.

Peloton down to about 30 riders!

Massive split now, all the main teams are in the front pretty much in full. The rest might just sit up.

Only chance he's got, isn't it? Fair play, not going to die wondering.

Feels pointless persisting now Pinot is with him, it's just going to force a chase behind.

Looks like they called a truce, Healy just trying his luck hoping Pinot wouldn't be allowed to follow.

I don't believe the gap to the break reduced by 1.30 as a result of Healy's attack.

Just over a week ago I was at way higher altitudes than that highest peak.
Maxed out over 4,200 metres and spent the whole week at over 2,500 metres.

Let's be honest now he has been doing a good impression of Cuddles (following with minor digs)

    An anti-Contador if you will

Contador didn't attack when he was leading.

Contador didn't really attack when he was leading.
.... apart from 2009 when it was just to piss Armstrong off ;-)

So glad the weather is playing ball today. Truly one of the best looking stages.
